o it seems every two seconds your spending money on a car that dosnt run… well motor. ;D

Well, until now, yeah I was spending it on the car. Various things that were broken I was replacing with upgrades (screw OEM except the water pump lol) such as the clutch, master cylinder, rotors and brake lines. All I need now are the intake manifold, intake collector, exhaust manifold, throttle body, valve cover gaskets and the semi-circles. OH! And a coil pack.

I also found a guy on NICO who has a modified R32 cluster that will fir the 240 and allow for a speedo! yay! but he want’s $200 for it. Small price to pay, but I make like no extra money, with being a student full time

It cost me ~$140 to get my tach and speedo to work. I sent the tach to Carl H (NICO) and he did something to it to make it work and then I bought a Dakota Digital speed signal interface and it took me a little while to set it up, but it’s spot on now.

Will that cluster fit a s13 though? I haven’t heard of any skyline clusters fitting s13’s just s14’s. What about the gear ratio for the rear diff and tire size?

No idea on the specs. But those can be changed.

I’ll go the route you went too, Steve. Why was it so hard to get the speedo right?

I didn’t have a radar gun, you have to make adjustments and then test them out. I ended up using a GPS that displayed speed.

Well, i just ordered new gaskets for the head (Intake manifold & exhaust manifold MLS Cometic, OEM intake collector, throttle body, valve cover gaskets and semi-circle plugs) and everything came to $154 shipped through Eric’s Performance Parts in Cali. All I need to do now is finish getting the head drilled out, find replacement bolts and clean the injectors and then put it all together!!

UPDATE:

Got the head back, ordered a new freeze out plug, got new OEM front & rear main seals (not sure why I got THREE though…) got VHT spraypaint for the head, manifold and turbo, removed the turbo to paint and…found there is oil leaking from the compressor housing, the wastegate won’t open, there is a kinked oil feed line AND (drumroll please) there is shaft play!!! YAY!!!

I’m pretty positive i’m getting an SR20 T28 off a very nice man I know for $300 and I’m gonna get a Z32 MAF, Nismo FPR and some sort of boost controller. prolly manual for now then I’ll upgrade later to the 21st century lol

If your gonna run a Z32 MAF your going to need a some kind of engine management to convert the signals since they are different between the Z32 and RB20 MAF, can’t just plug-n-play.

Post a WTB for a turbo here, or buy the one the guys selling in there. You should be able to pick up a RB25 turbo for around $250 + shipping.

Well this car was stripped of a couple rear brake parts so it will no longer stop lol but since it doesn’t MOVE that should be alright hahah I’ll just put the engine back together in it and then get it running and swap it into the currently gold hatch

I only need 2 things: 3 exhaust manifold studs and an Injector O-Ring kit then the biznitch goes back together. I painted a whole bunch of stuff too. Maybe if it doesn’t run at least it will still LOOK nice lol
