Escalade Hybrid**TAHOE HYBRID PRICES**

About time!!! Tahoe Hybrid will be here in the springtime for anyone who is planning on buying one

CADILLAC PREMIERS THE FIRST HYBRID IN A LARGE LUXURY SUV . . . Cadillac announced the world premiere of the Escalade Hybrid, the world’s first fuel-saving hybrid applied to a large luxury SUV. Powered by an innovative, fuel-saving 2-Mode Hybrid system, Escalade Hybrid will deliver more than a 50-percent improvement in fuel economy in city driving — all while delivering the same distinctive style, segment-leading features and full-size capability that have made the Escalade an icon.

“Escalade, already the sales and style leader among large luxury SUVs, now adds the desirability of a fuel-saving, technically advanced hybrid system,” said Jim Taylor, general manager. Cadillac. “The arrival of Escalade Hybrid means that consumers can now use less fossil fuel, reduce emissions and still enjoy the benefits of a full-size luxury SUV.”

The Hybrid goes on sale in the summer of 2008 and is the newest example of Escalade’s technology leadership.

OH good so all the people that spend the extra ten grand for this thing will think that the 3mpg in the city they save on gas will be worth it…come on dave you have yours on order?

can you figure out how much 50% is? its not 3

and is a GREAT move by GM.

not bad, on a 28 gallon tank, and extra 9 miles a gallon will give you 252 miles, compared to the original 18 (really good estimation) mpg that will save you an extra 14 gallons, or $43.26 per fill up, assuming one fill up every two weeks that is $1100.00 per year,

 if it helps GM sell more vehicles.

Too bad hybrid’s on paper MPG never lives up to their real world MPG.

Would a high efficiency diesel do well with the gas mileage, as an alternative to the hybrid?

hey as long as i look pimp and the mofo still pushes my 26’s im down.

Got in a Tahoe hybrid on Sunday with Manu plates on it.
Nice truck

a low efficency diesel would do better than a hybrid

Might pick one of these up when they come out, I’m a huge fan of the 08’s if I decide to I will definitely give you a call Dave.

Yes they would but yuppie escalade owners don’t want the smell or noise of a diesel.

i can’t wait to see how they set up the drivetrain and yes ^^ you are right the yuppies wouldn’t be bale to stand it and the idiots would put gas in it anyway

When do you take delivery of your first Tahoe Hybrid?
I know someone in NY that wants to look at one.

AS soon as this comes out I or wifey will have one.Been waiting on it since they announced it.Was going to order an 08 EXT last year when they first came out but decided to wait for the Hybrid which they say is close to 30 mpg. From what I read in the past few weeks, looks like it isn’t coming out until the 09 model year tho.
D

Great idea, once I’m done with school I’ll consider getting one.

Assuming you pay and extra 10 grand for the truck it will only take 9 years to break even.:bloated:

GM ANNOUNCES PRICING FOR CHEVROLET TAHOE AND GMC YUKON HYBRID SUVS . . . GM today also announced pricing for the 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon 2-Mode Hybrids, the only full-size, fully capable SUVs whose two-wheel-drive (2WD) models offer the same EPA city fuel economy as a conventional four-cylinder midsize car.

Manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for the generously equipped Tahoe Hybrid are $50,490 (2WD) and $53,295 (4WD); and $50,945 (2WD); and $53,755 (4WD) for the Yukon Hybrid. Prices include a $900 destination charge and, based on current adjusted EPA fuel economy calculations and pending IRS approval, buyers could be eligible for a federal tax credit.

GM MAKES CHEVROLET ITS WORLDWIDE FUEL SOLUTIONS LEADER . . . GM today announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show that Chevrolet will lead the corporation’s effort to reinvent the industry with a global portfolio of cars and trucks ranging from gas-friendly to gas-free.

The press event featured the world premiere of the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 2-Mode Hybrid full-size pickup and the first auto show reveal of the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid sedan, as well as the North American debut of the 2009 Chevrolet Aveo5 subcompact hatchback. GM also announced a partnership with the Walt Disney Company in which 10 Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell vehicles will be deployed as shuttles on Disney properties in California.

For global markets, GM announced that it will build the Chevrolet Beat mini-car concept first shown at the New York Auto Show. Beat was the top finisher among 1.8 million people worldwide who cast their votes online, and Bob Lutz, GM vice chairman, hinted at the press conference that GM also might build the runner-up concept, the Chevrolet Groove.

I WONDER HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE BEFORE THE GM REPS KICK MY ASS FOR POSTING THIS STUFF UP HERE??

It’s already public

No trouble for you

“Leaving a price premium of probably $3,000 to 4,000 for the hybrid power-train. Given the likely cost of the upgrade, it looks like GM is definitely not passing along the true cost of the hybrid technology to the customer. Once hybrid tax credits are factored in, the bottom line to the customer may well turn out to be almost the same, which ain’t bad when you consider the fuel savings.”

Normal Tahoe is 13 city and 17 Highway, combined 14
http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/noframes/22636.shtml

They are claiming 20 city and 21 highway for the hybrid, combined 20.5?

15k miles a year that is over $1,000 savings a year at $3 a gallon
(If you want the math I can post that as well)
