Give LZ $150 and he can turn off all the codes you want, advance your timing some and if it is an auto raise your shift points and pressure a little. Then you can block off all your evap, egr, air pump, emissions b/s. Then you can cut off your cat, weld in a straight pipe and get $50 for it at the junk yard. You’ll probably see better fuel economy if you keep your foot out of it too.
HP Tuners can literally change 95% of what your ECU controls. Timing, fuel, sensors, shift points, line pressure, idle, torque management, CAGS, etc.
As LZ mentioned anything that causes your CEL to come on can be eliminated so your car can pass inspection unless they do a visual and notice no erg, air pump, cats, etc.
You’ve had this problem for a while and you’ve already replaced a gas cap and a solenoid.
A smoke test would have revealed where the leak(s) is/are in a matter of minutes rather than you hunting around for hours and replacing parts that may be totally fine.
I’d say that’s pretty much the opposite of a scam. Our smoke tester is one of my favorite tools because we can find and fix most evap issues in short order and save people money they’d otherwise spend replacing parts that could be totally fine. You could have a loose clamp or a $5 hose causing the whole issue.
If you are doing a Non-Gm car with a LS swap I’d use the wiring harness and ECU out of a truck. The truck ecu is just as tunable as any cars so it is a cheap fairly easy way to run a ls in any car.
