What do you drive? I have a friend who has it. They work fine, but only when used where they’ll be beneficial, like maybe on a turbo car running high boost. On a NA 4 banger I would see this as pretty much useless if you already run a cat-back. Again… I don’t know what you drive. But to simply answer if it works - yes.

I’d keep that exhaust going through the muffler. NA its not wise to straight pipe it as there is huge loss of backpressure. Funny that backpressure the a loss of power when it goes missing. If it was a huge v8 with a monster carb and bumpstick maybe…
