K so ever since i got my exhaust redone whenever i take right turns it keeps hitting the frame. Not sure exactly what its called but its beside the frame rail about half way down the car (half way meaning inbetween front and rear wheels) So it hits the frame and keeps bouncing off of it very quickly. So i was thinking of putting something to stop me from hearing it. Mabey somehow get some thick rubber and stick it to the frame or somthing i donno. If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it without welding on new hangers let me know. (btw exhaust is 2.5")
are u currently using all 3 hangers on ur exhaust?
if so and its still hitting the frame? or driveshaft which makes more sense, then get better rubber bushings
u can get polyurathane ones which will have less play than rubber. i dont know who sells them other than ebay
Yeah im 90% sure im still using all 3 hangers. I know for a fact its not hitting the drive shaft. Ill take a pic and post it tonight and put markings on where its hitting. ill check polyurethane bushings out. Been doing it since i got my new exhaust like 4 months ago and way more since i did the auto to 5spd swap. Mabey i knocked a hanger off or somthing i donno.
oops i thought of that wrong
ya it would be the drivers side frame rail…i just woke up hahaha…
Hmm…i bet its hitting the body right under the back seat. jack up the car and beat the crap out of the body is one solution…another would be to get that peice that should be bent, bent properly…the guy prob tried to cut strait threw the slight curve vs making a smooth curve following the stock catback. look for how much clearance is around your catback in that area by just before the rear bar.
check the hanger off of the tranny mount, it broke off in short order when I got my exhaust done. Mine broke off and left a hole in the pipe so it was super loud, but it could break off without leaving a hole and sound like you are describing.
