just wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on what diameter of exhaust i should run on my 240?..ca18det,t28,fmic,walbro… would 3 inch be to much ?

2.5 inch would be enough for you to go with but im sure 3 inch would be fine as engines using turbos generally have enough backpressure that it isnt a problem.
3 inch is NOT over kill! there are some jdm companys that make 3.5 inch full back exhausts for ca18…etc! the less restrictive the easier it is for the turbo to push the eaxhuast out!
how much are you targeting to push ?!
sr20 T25’s are good simple upgrades from ca18 t25’s… S14 and S15 T28’s a little over the top for ca18’s so you gotta upgrade fuel and such… those will only give u 200-300 range…
if u are thinking more … than you gotta go bigger turbos, which means much more upgrades…
and 3 inch is not overkill at all…
yea, my friends silvia has a 3.5" kakimoto exhaust, and mine is 3" apexi WS. they sound similar, but he definitely has some good top end.
some companies also make a 3.5" downpipe and bell uppipe. i guess it all depends if you’re willing to lose a little bottom end.
