alright, i’ve seen a few GSR’s the past couple months… now im not sure whats all different from a normal b18 as to a GSR B18C5, but i heard that they have special exhaust valves or something… well i noticed that when these motors take off down the road the exhaust is loud but then all of a sudden you hear a loud pop and the exhaust is then extremely loud! :ugh2:
i seen a black civic on rt50 2 days ago in bridgeville that everyone said he had a different motor in it, and when he took off at the light, i’d say about after 50mph, i heard a loud pop and the exhaust was unbareablely loud… would this be caused by a GSR special exhaust valves???
that link is good, the real loud noise on a gsr is the 2ndarys opening up at like 5800 rpm. also, gsr = b18c1, and type r = b18c5…unless they’re jdm then they are both b18c
Okay, basically the VTEC motors work the same way as all of the other honda engines. Here is a super easy description.
In each of their engines 4 cylinders, instead of having pistons and rods like a normal internal combustion chamber motor would have. There are four gerbils with their feet connected to an output shaft which is then connected to the transmission. When you step on the gas pedal, the fuel inectors spray these hamsters in the face with gasoline, thus causing them to try to run away. As they run the output shaft is spun with tremendous torque :kekegay: This power is then disperesed through the front driven wheels.
