ok i have flexalite fans which i wired to the button on the left hand side of the steering wheel. its the button that makes the lights pop up on ma s13, im not using the button due to the silva front end. i decided to use the switch to turn on and off my fans…but i noticed there heating up 1 of the wires connceted to the switch which just started to happend…wuz wondering if there is a better way to run the fans without heating up wires or would it be better to run the fans on a thermostatic switch…hope somone can help me out
what size gauge wire did u use, it most likely is too small therefore heating up
its a 14guage
that seems strange that it would get abnormally hot 14 gauge wire is only good for 15 amp check to see if the fans are higher then 15 you will need to use 12 awg
i just wired mine using a relay… pretty simple… doesnt hurt ur switches… everythings reliable…
yea use a relay , it wont burnout your switch.
if its ok with u can pm me on how u did it lol
Use a relay and use 12g wire, not 14. Those FAL fans pull close to 30 amps.
if it’s that much it really should be 10awg sounds big but thats what 10 is rated for 30 amps
thanks guys …ill get the relay t.m. and c how it goes
