FAILED EMISSIONS

hi i’m driving a nissan nx1600 anyways went to get the emissions tested today and it failed, only the one part. On the yellow sheet on the right hand side where it says

NO ppm Limit - 948 Reading 1132 <- failed… any one know what the problem is and where i can fix it on the car, need this car for 2 more years, lol anyways if anyone knows where and what the problem is, let me know

thanks

First off, this is a tech question, and belongs in the tech forum.

Secondly, this could be any variety of problems. If I recall correctly, a high NO limit is caused by running slightly lean.

Have you done a basic tune up lately? Such as plugs, o2 sensor, air filter, etc.?
Did you make sure your EGR is working?

More info would help.

I’ll sell you my NX1600. It looks like crap but atleast it’ll pass.

I don’t know anything about the etest, but you should be able to take the car to a Drive Clean repair facility to get it fixed.

Like was said above a basic tune up does wonders. I just got my 240 and had to get it etested. ended up being 2 problems

  1. my O2 was fucked
  2. engine timing was cranked over. (not by me)

got a new CAD and a O2 turned the timeing to where it belongs and bam got a wicked score… i think i even got like 0 or .01 on one part…

dont know if any of that will help but who knows

make sure your car was warmed up properly, if you do the test with a cold catalytic converter, good chance its gonna fail.

i passed the etest last friday with a bad o2 sensor and a bad maf, but just cause i passed doesn’t mean you will.

definitely get your o2 sensor checked, run a scan test for codes, and see if any codes come up.
