For example :
Thread title : I want to buy a car that I can track for under 20Gs, what should I buy?
Good answer - First and foremost, make sure your finances are ok. Without structured finances, you can and will get into a lot of trouble with a car loan. That being said, you should buy an xxx because it is a great daily driver yet a competative sports car, especially for it’s class.
Bad answer - How many times are you going to ask this question? Go buy a foxbody mustang. DIAF.
Really bad answer - F-bods suck.
Too many bad answers, and one - yes one - really bad answer will result in a temporary ban.
Keep it clean, keep it simple. If your “automotive” post is sort of off topic - Post it there.

Usually we allow a lot more free reign in offtopic, but you should use common sense when posting.
USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION
To cut down on the amount of annoying reposts, all users should make a point of using the search function BEFORE starting a new thread. Consistent failure to do so could result in a loss of privelages and/or a temporary ban.
NYSpeed Classified Rules
NYSpeed is not responsible for transactions made through the Classifieds section. All transactions or the sole responsibility of the members whom partake.
First, you should make sure you read and understand the NYSpeed Classified Rules in the FAQ
IF YOU ARE A SELLER - You can create a FS thread and respond to questions or feedback, but that is all. If you excessively bump your own thread which means if you exceed one bump per week, you will be banned for 1 day, your thread will be locked and repeated offenses will result in the loss of your classified privileges for a month. If you need to make changes to a thread, such as selling price or to add pictures, that is allowed. DO NOT take advantage of this since it will bump your own thread. If we see any kind of excessive repeated price changing, etc, you will be banned for 3 days, your thread will be deleted and you will lose your classified priviledges for one months.
IF YOU ARE A BUYER - If you are interested in a particular item or items, you may post or PM the seller to make the sale or ask questions. You may also post a WTB thread which follows the same guidelines as the FS threads do.
IF YOU ARE A 3RD PARTY TO THE TRANSACTION - You are welcome to provide seller / buyer feedback in Classifieds threads. You are also welcome to offer input & constructive criticism of the items listed, as well as reference market values as such. There is zero tolerance for deriding, flaming, or otherwise undermining a classified thread with irrelevant posts - Such actions will result in warning, infractions, loss of classifieds access, and eventually bans.
CLASSIFIEDS FORMAT - The classifieds is a high volume section of this community. To make it easier for all parties involved, you’re required to use the appropriate format for Classifieds threads. Put the following in the beginning of the title of each thread as it pretains to your need:
FS: (For Sale)
WTB: (Want to Buy)
B: (Borrow)
WTT: (Want to Trade)
WTH: (Want to Hire)
etc…
For example…
“FS: Used JDM B-Series Transmission”
“WTB: RC Injectors, 550cc or Higher”
“B: Valve spring compressor”
“WTT: 95 Honda Accord for 96 Taurus SHO”
THREAD CLOSURE - When your thread is resolved (i.e. product is sold, or WTB is filled), please say so. This will show the rest of the community that the item is no longer for sale/needed to locate for purchase.
RETAILERS, DEALERS, VENDORS - Dealers being people who own a retail store (selling parts, services or anything).
- Dealers being individuals selling items on a continuous basis (parts, services or anything).
If you are interested in selling your services, please contact a moderator or admin. The classifieds forum are intended for individuals who will be selling items/services one time and one time only. If you need any clarification, please contact the admins or one of the moderators.
We here at NYSpeed.com do not charge money or make money from it, it is only fair that you help us with the cost of hosting and such with advertising.
BUMPING RULES
You’re allowed to bump your thread a reasonable amount of times. Reasonable amount of times does not equate to 5 times a day, or even once every day. Believe it or not, people actually look through the classifieds. And your post will still be there. Try to keep it to about once a week or less. Moderators will have discretion as to what is too much bumping of a thread.
Don’t repost your thread either, unless it was over 3 months old and things have changed.
TRADER FEEDBACK - We have a trader feedback system here, please make use of it. There is good insight to be found in a users past transactions here. Our classifieds are considered “Buyer Beware” so we suggest you practive due diligence.
BE REASONABLE. USE COMMON SENSE.
Not following these rules will result in permanantly removing your post(s) and your privileges to post and view these forums.
Signatures
The rules on signature files are as follows:

500x100 sig pic limit. Animation ok; multiple pics OK as long all the pictures put together do not exceed 500x100

no [quote] tag useage in sigs. (Feel free to continue to quote people saying funny stuff, just leave the tags out of it. Use quotation marks instead. )

3 line maximum for text. NO HUGE FONTS! (i.e. larger than SIZE 3)

no offensive imagery.

no urls, unless you are a site sponsor or you have express permission.
Be creative, have fun, but stay in bounds.
We aren’t asking for much. We would like to keep the speed of uploading pages to a tolerable level and increase the efficiency of page viewing. If you have not followed the above guidelines, your sig privelages will be removed.
Avatars
Avatars are small graphical images that you may choose in your profile. They are displayed by your username on all posts that you make. You can select the image that best describes yourself from your profile options.
Avatars should not be larger than the specified dimension limits in your user CP. Avatars also should not be explicitly pornographic or in bad taste. If you have to think about it, it probably shouldn’t be your avatar.
No URLs are allowed unless you are a site sponsor.
If your avatar is removed by the Moderating Team, then you probably didn’t adhere to this policy. Do not attempt to challenge the removal or attack the moderators for the removal - both in your new avatar or anywhere else in the forums. We feel the rules are very simple and make sense for everyone. Don’t get banned over something as stupid as an avatar file, please.
Abuse
NEW POSTERS SIGNING ON WITH THE SOLE INTENTION OF POSTING ABUSIVE, SLANDEROUS, HATEFUL, OR THREATENING MESSAGES, WILL HAVE THEIR LOGIN SUSPENDED OR DELETED IMMEDIATELY WITHOUT WARNING.
If you flame a newb and it’s UNWARRANTED, you will receive a 3 day ban, no if’s and’s or but’s. A “newb” is someone who has the “n00bie” custom title if you didn’t know where the line is drawn.
Newbs, if you start trouble with a member for any reason and they flame you, it’s your own fault for acting like a jackass. Thanks for your cooperation.
Multiple accounts ARE NOT ALLOWED. If we catch you with multiple accounts without express permission, you will be banned.
If you are warned or given an infraction by a moderator, just fix the problem. Arguing or getting belligerent with a moderator for doing his/her job will get you NOWHERE FAST.
Do not allow others to use your account. You are responsible for what is done with your account. Anything done under your username will be attributed to you, whether or not you are directly responsible.
Anyone who has been banned or banished from NYSpeed should not be using an existing member’s account, or have posts made on their behalf. Failure to follow this rule will result in possible banning or loss of your account.
Infraction & Warning System
The User Infraction system is designed to automate the management of misbehaving users.
Each infraction level has an expiration time. When the infraction expires, the associated points are removed from the user’s point total and the user’s infraction groups are recalculated.
Infraction levels can also be allowed to be given as warnings. A warning does not add any infraction points to the user’s point total. Warnings serve as a method to remind user’s of your forum’s rules and encourage them to be followed without awarding infraction points. Moderators have the ability to give an infraction or a warning for those levels that have the warning ability enabled.
Accrual of multiple points restricted site features and eventually being banned. The time period of the ban will depend on how many points you have, ranging anywhere from 24 hours to permanent.
You can view your infraction points in your user profile.
Different infractions carry different values, based on the severity of the infraction. The same goes for the effective length of time that the points stay active on your record.
1 PT. Inappropriate Language
1 PT. Not using search function/ reposts / not following section guidelines
1 PT. Unnecessarily Insulted Other Member(s)
2 PTS Classifieds prefix missing from post (FS,WTB,etc.)
2 PTS Going off topic in a meet thread.
2 PTS Going Offtopic in the Automotive Section
2 PTS Interfering/Undermining Classifieds
2 PTS Racism
2 PTS Signature Rule Violation
2 PTS Unwarranted Flaming (for Gen Auto/Classifieds)
5 PTS Undermining Moderators
20 PTS Spammed Advertisements
Banishment - If at any time your point accrual reachs a certain level, you will lose access to the forums for a specificed period of time. Once that time has elapsed you will be welcome back to the forum - however your point level may last longer then your ban did.
The larger number of points you accrue, the longer your banishment will be:
5 Points = 1 day ban
8 Points = 3 day ban
11 Points = 7 day ban
16 Points = 14 day ban
20 Points = Permanant Banishment
Any / all infractions & banishments are at the discretion of the moderators & administrators.
