first off this car does have a salvage title. my brother bought it in nov 03 if im not mistaken in rochester. the person he bought it from was a vw/audi certified mechanic at import autohaus who rebuilt the car.
well. the kbb on it is $9100 in fair condition. but seeing it has a salvage, and there are a few things wrong with it, im sure he’d take less than that.
Damn…I would think 7-7500 is a fair price…just wish i didnt have the explorer or it would be mine. And again…since I am the unofficial expert on salvage titles…as long as you keep the vehicle registered in NYS, there will never ever ever be a problem registering it.
my brother had no problem registering it a few years back.
and it has a few things that have to be done on it, leaky powerstearing rack/replacment of pump, control arms, and a rear wheelbearing. also some awesome audi electrical gremlins to sort out. he really needs to get his shit together so he can get this thing ready to sell… it probably wont be done for a few weeks, maybe over a month. im just testing the waters with this thread.
Right, but alot of states have different initial inspection laws for salvage/rebuilt vehicles. For example if you were to bring a car in from out of state with a salvage/rebuilt title it will take almost a year to go through the process. But once titled it is like any other vehicle in the state. Just trying to decrease some of the negative stigma of a salvage vehicle.
ah word. my friend bought a jetta from ca with a salvage title when we were is hs… he had to wait like 4 months to get it inspected, then he had to have it towed to a place and a guy looked at it for like 1 min and gave him some paperwork and he was on his way.
