well, ive been running into money issues lately and not been able to keep up with the project and im thinking about cutting my losses and getting rid of it and getting into something else. well, im just having stupid “little” problems with the car that are starting to get to me, i dont have the time to make the changes it needs to stop the issues, i have too many things wired up on a circuit and i keep blowing mad fuses for my headlights, tailights, and all kinds of other crap. i dont know if im going to sell it, i guess its only if the price is right. ive been trying so hard to find a better paying job cause right now im at Wilson Farms and i make shit for money considering ive been there almost 4yrs and still dont make a dollar more than what i started at. i guess ive just been really frustrated that i cant put time into the car and get it where i want it, and the plans i had for it over winter arent likely to happen unless i can find a way to make extra money because i had planned on another $3000 worth of mods. I’d really hate to sell this car but lately ive been so aggitated with the little issues its been giving me that i flipped out last night and made this post.

as i said, its just a feeler, but if the price is right i might go another route, i heard a rumor you can order a turbo AWD pontiac vibe from the factory :snky: so i might look into that if i sell the car and get a better job, but im kinda betting i wont sell the car, im just in a rut with it right now, just thought i would see if anyone would even buy a turbo FOCUS.
you should prolly not worry about doing any more mods and make ur winter project working all the kinks and quirks out of ur car. I know its tedious work that nobody wants to do but hell, ull be a much happier guy once ur car is running smooth and dependable, then you can move on to more mods. The way i see it is that if u spend another 3k on ur car for mods, ur only gonna worsen the situation.

take a few deep breaths and just think about this for a min. Think of all the time and everything that you put into your car. Yeah, your car has been being a bitch and has been having ALOT of probs lately, but if I was you, I wouldn’t give up on this. Winter is comming and the car will be off the road til next sumer. That gives you plenty of time to fix everything that’s wrong with your car before next summer. Understandable that the money for the mods isn’t there, but just get the car running like a champ before you start adding stuff to it. Plus by then, you might have some money to dump into your car. Now you sound like me, let’s buy more stuff for a car that runs like crap or doesn’t run at all. Anyways, that’s just my $.02 but good luck selling the foci if you decide to.
i guess thats true, over winter my plan was to fix all the quirks and then hopefully build up the spare motor, but i prolly wont have the money. so i guess for now im just hoping to get what i already have working at is best and hopefull pulling some mid-13sec passes this summer, then over NEXT winter ill do the buildup to get into 12’s. hopefully my problems from the past few weeks can be solved with some re-working of my guage wiring(all on one circuit) and replacing some fuses. if not im gonna shoot myself in the foot for just using a bigger fuse if i ruined some of the harness or something. thanx for the input guys.

well, if i can get my wiring issues straightened out and over the winter have hotrodkid help me work out my piping kinks and then i re-tune and everything is AOK then ill be keeping it, if not ill be returning to stock and selling the car and the parts.
Thats your best bet for a quick sale. After it is returned to stock I would put it in the paper and never mention that it was turbo’d.
yeah not to be a dick, but i really dont feel bad for ya concerning the not making enough money situation. i mean, 4 years at wilson farms, and still making what you started with? that’s what, 7 and hour tops? man i can name a handful of jobs, full time and part time that’ll start you at 8 or better an hour all over buffalo…i dont think you’ve really looked too far if you haven’t found one yourself yet, or you’re too picky…
but on a differente note, it’s funny how EVERYTHING in this thread is a mirror image of me and what i went through/am going through with my car…
like i said, i know how you feel brother, try to stick it out because if you sell it, and somebody else dumps a grand into it and has a blast with it for a long time, you’ll never live it down…

4 months later mine is still a bit finicky about some things, but it’ll all get worekd out over winter. I’m not a car genius my any means, but seriously, if ya need help w\ stuff, an extra hand, even a run to the store for parts if your cars down, drop me a line or sumthing - id be glad to help w\e i can.
