Fellow Shifters, please take a moment and read this

I went from spending 600 bucks a month (2 packs a day)

to spending around ~200, it could be even less if you did not go ape shit crazy all the time buying shit Like I do :rofl

Kenz, how much for a good kit in menthol ? I’m talkin one that will keep up wit me

I am really sorry to hear that man :frowning: But this is exactly the type of thing e-cigs can help prevent, nicotine and the other bases used in e-liquid are not cancer causing and deemed safe per FDA, the problem is they will not do a study on the prodcut as a whole and allow them to be marketed as a smoking alternative

Lung cancer and respiratory related diseases are caused by the inhalation of smoke from the cigaratte burning (along with the 1000’s of chemicals in a cigarette), this is what e-cigs are trying to prevent, a healthier way to go on about a habbit most do not want to break. I’m sure its hard for you to understand given you’re family has been greatly affected by the use of tobacco.

hell you could buy e-liquid with no nicotine in it at all and be 100% safe if you so choose to.

I’ll PM you in a couple mins with some info

I’m the same way. The money I used to spend on cigarettes just goes to another vice like car mods but at least they won’t kill me…wait.

Vlad, is there a forum app that puts all of shady’s posts in to short, concise sentences?

I just skipped to the link but I didn’t click on it.

If somebody wants to smoke that is their choice. Second hand smoke in non enclosed areas is a fucking myth. There are plenty of laws in place in NY to protect non smokers from smokers already. Nanny states are ridiculous and need to be stuffed dead in their tracks. E-cigs are a great stepping stone for those who want to quit and banning them or taxing them on a astronomical level is not the way to do it. But this is NY where nothing logical happens and the peoples rights mean nothing.

you can not claim that the “e-liquid” is “not cancer causing and deemed safe per FDA” when they have not done a conclusive study on it. Anything we intake into our body has the potential for harm. It may be safe but the amount that is safe has not been determined nor has any longterm effects. I hope this product is safe because it would give an option to my parents and others that smoke however I still would rather them just quit smoking because the devil you know is still better than the devil you don’t".

I spent the better part of the last two years researching this kind of stuff during my masters and i know that the product has claims but they have not been substatiated.

I’m going to get cancer from going to Turning Stone. Place is a cancer pit.

No studies have been done on the product as a whole in its marketd use. All the bases of e-liquid are considered safe per FDA, and there have been small studies done that show there are no harmful by products when vaped. There is a study that has currently been concluded to my knowledge that they are just looking to get published.

There is nothing “concrete” and like I said the FDA refuses to touch it, but there have been small studies/tests done by independent lab rats that have found nothing harmful aside from the Nicotine itself, which as I said before the side effects of nicotine as im sure youre aware are much like those of long term caffeine use. There are also benefits to nicotine. Its up to someone whos looking at switching to e-cigs to do their research and determine whether or not they would rather keep smoking analaogs, use e-cigs or quit all together. I have read a lot on the subject and have talked to a lot of people, and In my opinion, the risk is extremely low, nearly nothing compared to smoking a real cigarette so I made the switch.

Do we know what long term side effects if any e-cigs have? No, because they have only been around ~5 years now (3-4 years or so here in the US) I know people who have been vaping for 3-4 years now who were not in the best state of health who are now healthier then most. There are doctors in the community who have discussed how peoples overall stats have improved, shown x-rays of a year before and after vaping and how much they have cleared up is amazing. Theres a whole thread of people who started sharing chest x ray of years before and a year or two after of vaping.

In the 5 years of existence to my knowledge there has not been a single report of someone becoming ill from e-cigs or them being related in anyway.

I hope the FDA steps in in some way and tests them, I’d like to see regulation to an extent. I would not like to see phillip morris branded e-liquid that will probably have a million other shit chemical in it, ridiculously expensive kits and liquids, thats what I am afraid of.

Ya know what’s even healthier than that? Not smoking. Doooo it.

$600 a month on cigarettes? really? That’s $7200 a year or 5 Z28s.

Yeap, amazing how fast you realize how much you were spending, never really thought of it as a big deal till I saw my bank account a month after quitting :rofl

Aren’t smoking for 14 year olds to look cool in front of girls? It stopped being cool once you actually have to paid for your own cigarettes instead of stealing it from your grand parents. :rofl

where can i get them? i kinda wanna try it out. ive been tossing the idea around to try them, seeing that you had a good experiance with them seems like its worth a shot

Theres tons of places online, it can be a bit confusing and daunting at first because their are so many options, some good some bad, good tasting liquids and really shitty ones.

Do you want to start out with a “cigarette” style e-cig with an automatic battery or move to something that right of the batt may be a little bigger but will give you a better overall experiance?

I have no problem helping anyone out, it may seem confusing at first but once you get some basics its very easy.

First thing I’d say to do is head to your local walgreens, they should have some disposable Blu e-cigs, they are a one time use e-cig with an automatic battery, no button to push you just inahle. They work pretty good, I just don’t care for the flavor. SHould last you half if not all day, their 7.99 a piece, pick up one or two of them and give it a shot, give it a real chance. They come in regular and menthol I belive, the one I picked some up from were only menthol, the menthol is hardly strong so even if your not a menthol smoker you should be okay with it, plus menthol in an e-cig tastes much diff then an analog, my dad HATES menthol analog cigarettes but loved mentholated e-liquid.

Here are some sites, PM me if you have any questions or wnat me to help you start with something

www.smartvapes.com

www.rawrvapor.com (only sells e-liquid, but its some of the best out there and his juice is my primary go to)
www.smokelessimage.com (The volt is a cigarette style e-cig and pretty much the only good working one ive ever used)

This won’t mean much to you ar first glance of those sites, but the best thing to start out with IMO is to jump right to a Joye eGo/Riva 510, its a bit bigger like the size of a big sharpie, but the battery will last you all day, and its a much stronger device to use. You can get an eGo-t kit which is probably the easiet to use and get familar with but I can help you get setup with the same setup my dad has been using for 2 months, a 56 year old stubborn fuck that finds them easy enough to use…

Itll be around ~80 bucks or so off the batt but should give you a month before you NEED to order anything else, its just about finding a lqiuid that you would like to vape

Actually here I’ll make things easy

http://www.kalamazoovaporshop.com/KalamazooVaporShopProducts/ProductDetails/tabid/72/ProductID/169/Default.aspx

That kit right there is easy to use and will get you started.

Does not come with liquid so I’d recommend getting 2-3 10ML bottles from his website to get you started, grab diff flavors of things you might like, His OMFG Tobacco and WTF menthol are two of my favorites. A few 10ML bottles should last you a few weeks if not a month depending on how much you vape. I personally vape about 3ML’s a day but most ive started on e-cigs vape around ~1.5-2ml a day

Any of his juice get in 70PG/30VG at 18-24MG starting off

Id also suggest getting a couple of these as they work much better then the tanks, their just not as easy to fill, requires a few mins of slowly dripping liquid in them to get them full.

I can help you out with anything you need, just let me know man, sorry if I made it more confusing then it needs to be, but whats in this post should get you going

Cigs should be $50 a pack. Lets make up some deficit.

He was talking about smoking cigarettes not “smoking pole”…wrong thread! :hug

Yea that place is horrible, last time I went there my chest was killing me from the Casino.

Agreed! Fuck raising taxes raise the price of cigs LOL.
