Okay so i have to finally take my spec in, i have been putting it off for a month of 2 now. THe problem is sometime, very off and on, it takes about 5 sec to start and the start is kinda shakey. but it will always start. and when the heat is on and i am sitting at a light the idol goes up and down just a bit and has vibrations. i have warrenty till 2006 may i believe. so i’ve been told starter or fuel pump, or both. what do u guys think? the jackass at west end nissan where i was goign to take it but decided not to said he just doesnt’ know so i’ll have to wait til they service it till i can find out. jackass. but i am goign to take my car to ericksen cause that is where it was bought. and the previous owner reccomended them, they wont have a prob with my intake or exhaust will they? i am not sure how places react to any mods when your going to try to fix stuff under warrenty. thanks

Fuel pump will fix the starting problem. Go to Ericksen, they did mine with no hasle, yours wont be the first they’ve done.
I’d recommend Ericksen too. Their service is amazing, but -
A) You’ll pay for it, dearly. Very pricey. Shop rate = 85/hour
B) You’ll have to wait. My mom phoned there today and as of today (the 17th) they are booking for the 28th.
ahh 85 hr thats ridic. so since im still under warrenty do you think these costs will be covered under warrenty? cause i mean its the cars fault not mine :?

welll fuck, last night when i remote started my car i was in my room and i heard it try to start 2 times, it made this grinding cliking noise. then it started fine. and its been fine since, but now the ‘check engine soon’ light is on. my appoint to bring it in is on the 28th. is it fine to drive until then or should i be taking her easy?

Precat I assume.
Yes Mr. Prekitty is your precat, the one that is on your header, the one that can and most likely will desintegrate and scar up you pistons and quite possibly make you need a new engine, that’s why it is one of the very first mods that you should do to you spec (race header, no cat), hopefully it is not that.
If you have an SES light, use the code retreval process and get the code, so we can see what it is. If you aren’t sure how to do this, PM myself or Chasenyadown.
Normally a bunch of clicks when you’re trying to start the car indicates a low battery condition. However, since it started, there must be something wonky in your ignition system somewhere.
well i did the ses check thingy, and it went 0335, which is apparently

but i also counted 0330. so i dunno if it was giving me 2 codes or what but i think it was just sat outside for like 10 min counting them over and over.

so i eneded up resetting the ses. is this good or will this not enable nissan to get whats going on. oh well hopefully its all fun and dandy, at lesat that god damn annoying light is off now.
It’s fine to reset the light, You are reseting the Ecu, and cars that have OBD II as soon as they pick up a problem the ECU adjusts to that problem, and depending on the problem may send the car into limp mode or just warn you of the problem. But yeah that definately needs looking into.
what is limp mode?
It’s when the ECU recognises that there is a problem that could be detremental to the engine and will not allow the car to come out of closed loop, basically it just keeps the engine within “safe” parameters until you can get it in.

Yeah and whenever you buy a header lemme know and we’ll install it, and if you want to I’ll even seel you my MR DP and we could install that at the same time, then you’ll start to see some of those gains that I KNOW you are dying to achieve. :tonqe:
yah i was going to do HID kit but now header just seems to make more sense, and HID is consmetic, cool cosmetic though. well i guess i could buy it with ralph kleins generous gift when i get it in 2006. how much for dp? and dear god i wnat more speed…moree…‘turbo more’…haha one day. thanks thou
