I reloaded the entire system last night. Works great. I seem to be experiencing an issue with firefox though. The browser was closed, and when I try to start it, takes a moment, the gui window flashes on the screen then disappears. The process is in task manager. If I click on firefox again, a second instance is started but no GUI appears. I reinstalled and seemed to work once, then it goes back to the same old shit. Anyone else experience this before?
I had this happen with the previous version of FF. When they came out with the current version, and I updated, it went away completely.

I’ve also had this problem in the past. end the process for firefox in the task manger, then try starting it again
