Who else has a running “to do” list in their head?
My first AutoXs are Feb. 26/27th and I have a track day in mid-March if I can get the $ together for it. So here’s what I need/want to get done in just under a month.
Install Wolfe 6-Point Cage
Install PA Racing Tubular Front K-Member
Install PA Racing Tubular Front Lower Control Arms (awaiting arival  )
Alignment (awaiting above installs)
Relocate Battery to the Spare-Tire Well
Power Steering Cooler
Motor Oil Cooler
Build Bracket for above Coolers
It’s not a whole lot but I’m waiting on most the parts and I’m working a whole lot. Not to mention I’m in the process of moving. As for the coolers I’m still debating on what to buy. I know I need much more than your average 2-pass cooler for the PS. I’m thinking of a larger transmision style cooler (probably something around the demensions of a 25-30k GVWR cooler) but I can’t decide if I want to get a unit w/ a built-in fan. It’d be nice since it’d cool the fluid while the car sits between runs (I leave the engine running w/ the hood popped). For the oil I don’t think I need to as big since it really doesn’t seem to get too hot or anything, but I still haven’t chosen one yet so I can’t start making brackets yet.
It’s at Laguna Seca. I used to live in da 'burgh but live in Santa Cruz, CA now. I still keep on the board to keep up w/ some old buddies and since it’s just damn entertaining sometimes. Honestly when it comes to racing sometimes I wish I still lived there. I drive 3 hrs for my AutoX events (although the course is huuuuuuuuuge for an AutoX, we’re talking mid 3rd in Fbodies = 80+ which is nice compared to the small events at North Park) and 3hrs to the drag strip (which I rarely go to anyway). When I was in PA I had like 3 strips within 1hr plus the flashlight drags and Zeilenople (sp???). And they were just finishing Beaver Run which looks amazing (I never got to use it though ). Then again here I have Seca under an hour away, and Sears Point, Button Willow and Thunderhill all reasonably close. shrug Oh, but the Seca track day is like $279 but you do get 7 run sesions. EVERYTHING is expensive in Cali.

There’s a few, Rolex Sports Car Series, Moto GP, American Lemans Series, amongst others. The Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca are the biggest event in Vintage racing fo the year… awesome to check out. And Cart or Indy or one of those fawks usually comes there but I don’t see it on the schedule for this year yet.
