Fluid filled knee question

Like the title states i took a snowmobile to the body last weekend mainly my knee and its bruised really bad and filled with fluid, thank god not torn but i can get around good now. What im wondering is if anyone has had a knee drained on here before. im sitting this weekend out and coming home and am planning on getting it done. I hear it heals way faster and to be honest its just gross feeling/seeing the liquid move around in there. Also where to go in buffalo to get it done?

thanks

my dads had his knee drained a few times before. the last time he had it done i believe was at millard fillmore and was in and out, like 45 minutes. youll be sore a couple days but not too bad. worst part is probably the size of the needle, lol

Yeah I’m not to stoked to have it done, but thanks ill give them a call

I had it done once. I busted off some cartilege and it bled for a while and filled my knee with blood. I forget how much they took off but it seemed like a lot. A hundred CC’s or a couple hundo or something? It hurt pretty bad getting the needle shoved in, but when it was done and the pressure was so much lower in my knee it felt a ton better. Of course then I hoppled around for a while waiting for arthroscopic surgery to fix whatever was wrong. They thought I had torn my meniscus but after the got in there with the camera they were all “Oh hi busted off chunk of articular cartilege just floating around the joint.”

But that was in Rochester so I can’t give you the name of any good orthopedic doctors in Buffalo.

yeah ive herd the needle is huge, and im kinda being a huge pansy about it. Tattoos are fine but other than that i hate needles, especially the ones that stay in for a while … luckily i dont have a ton of fluid in there so hopefully its a quick in and out

they dont give you a topical or anything?ask to not see the needle, and when they do it, look away and pinch your other thigh. the stinging of a pintch (dosent have to be heman pintch just enough to sting) and not seeing it happen, will totally distract you.

i did that once getting blood taken, cuz the needle was fn huge, didnt feel it

Sorry to hear about your mishap but I couldn’t help to laugh at:

i took a snowmobile to the body last weekend

messed up my knee pretty bad back in high school couldnt walk on it all the way for close to a month. Had to get it drained a few times you dont even feel the needle go in they just leave it for a little and let all the shit out. Mine kept filling back up had to get some MRI’s done and stuff like that to make sure it wasnt too serious. They eventually just injected the knee with steriods so it would heal faster but the draining part wasnt bad helps so much when they get that all out of there.

Had mine drained at Millard Fillmore Suburban before I ended up having two surgeries for a torn meniscus. My doc was Joseph Buran, great Orthopedic Surgeon if you need anything done with your knee. I believe he worked with most of the Bills’ players back in the day.
