Stock boost(boost controller not working correctly from the van) 7psi very cold air. Chirps 2nd and 3rd shifting at 7 grand. The temp gauge doesn’t move as is usual Nissan fashion, but I didn’t have my fan running and the coolant was boiling in the reservoir, that was during light driving. I hooked it up and then went hard, no cooling issues after that. Ducting air to the rad would help matters under long periods of low air flow. All in all good power, just need to see extra boost.
7000 RPM shifts in a mini van. :o
Not on Z32TTs. ![]()
A little experiment was done recently on a modded TT (similar to mine) that had a big-ass front-mount intercooler (I forget which one, doesn’t matter) and they swapped it out and installed upgraded side-mount intercoolers (the Stiillen units I think) and the car GAINED hp!
Z32s have such a cramped engine bay and such small openings in the front of the car that stuffing a big intercooler in front of the your: a) pop charger intake filter(s), b) AC Condenser, and c) Radiator = not a good idea.
Jason, I agree on Z32s. For all the reasons you mentioned.
I decided to retard the timing closer to stock and definitely is smoother, I might to have to try moving the BOV to the sam side ad Aaron, or recirculate it for best response. Better cooling is definitely an issue to look at.
