Fobwall's Track Day! Sep 16th (Dunnville Autodrome)

hahaha yessss

civic vs stock s14

fukn awesome vid man, it was great racing behind and infront of you.

ps: i wonder whos faster on the straights, your civic or my s14. hrmmmm

now that i see how i drive third person, i can definetly improve my lines to help me go faster.

damn i need to take my lines better!!
and brake better

i didnt even know the civic was on my ass ;(

hehe, zee just fyi that civic is stock, non-vtec and has regular street tires.

just goes to show what seat time can do to your lap times, full suspension, shit tons of horsepower and nice tires doesnt mean anything without some practise.

this is why i love dunnville

^^ not completely true.

its not “stock”

he modified something in the engine, but i’ll let him chime in if he so wishes lol

I had one of the helmets but I put the balaclava in the hamper and the helmet back on the shelf when I was done.

I wish I had tried a battle with that Civic. It would have been nice to run some lines with someone who has a similar setup to mine.

Watching these videos makes me want to get back on the track and try some more laps. I am pushing finances around looking at how I can make the 14th work.

Does anyone have some 4x100 wheels with rubber I could burn for the day? My brakes are back up to snuff with DOT 5.1 in the lines (which is serious overkill for what I’m running) so I can stop again. If I can get tires then you can count me and my sorry 4 door Corolla in to the fun.

just tell me when and ill give you something nice and cheap that should hold up a lot better on the track than those all seasons and steelies :stuck_out_tongue:

This is what I like to see, people who wanna track their cars more.

I still don’t get why people are so scared to come to the track.

because they are scared that their “show” cars will get rock chips and their shiny wheels getting dirty from brake dust!

^^^^^LOL!!! sad but true.

peace

i got stone chips in my flat black paint job, ohhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooooo lol

Zagatto, i forsure can find you some rubbers to burn (theres a big scrap tire pile outback of my shop… you would have to find some rims though. (i have a set of 4x100, 15"/6.5 forsale.

edit: I just rememberd i have an extra set of wheels from my mr2 (14"), theyre a tad out of round causing a very slight vibration… i wouldnt mind lending them to you for the day.

For those of you who are interested in the next event, go sign up now! October 14th! 10am to 4pm.

I will have to wait and see what I can do for cash. I just got back from the garage again after my brakes failed on me during my lunch run. The mechanic I used is trying to tell me that the problem is that I used DOT 5.1 instead of the recommended DOT 3. I had to tell him that with freshly replaced fluid I shouldn’t have to put the pedal to the floor to get any stopping power.

Grrr… time to push more money around and see what I can do.

I keep thinking about that gutted out RX-7 and how nice it would be to have space to work on a track only car like that where I don’t have to worry about parts failing on me with my daughter in the back seat.

I’ll mount some tires on those mr2 wheels for you to go nutz on, dont worry about cash… this one is on me.

Thanks!!! Im not to sure on the speed…im running the S15 diff with the S14 5 speed so the speedo is well gone…besides, looking down is not an option…the S15 runs a 3.71 rear gear so im in the gears longer…At Mosport I was hitting 217 kph in 4th uphill. Still has about 450 RPM to go!!I use the GPS for speed but it wasnt turned on at Dunnville…next time ill put it on…it will hold my max speed.

The end of the straight…well im only starting to develop enough hair on my balls to really take that turn fast…next time ill speed it up some more and hope it sticks!!

I was leaving that long sweep in the civic at 125 kph with no passenger and 120 kph with a passenger

Sry for yelling at you after the black flag…that subaru just wouldnt get out of the way and i just lost it… My bad

Hehe…Thanks…part of that is correct…it is the 1.5 SOHC non-vtec that the car came with. However…

  1. 7 lb flywheel and exceddy clutch
  2. no power anything…no ac…just crank and alternator
  3. Tri-Flow racing cam… www.coltcams.com
  4. eiback pro springs and dampers…non adjustable…basic basic
  5. no sway bars…thats what lets me slide and lift the inner rear tires so easily
  6. $40.00 used tires 185 14’s…all season!!
  7. K&N filer

All in all, the car is making from the stock 86 whp 104whp…thats still less then a stock si motor!

240_420, you officially qualify as my hero.

In my stock Corolla I was coming out of the big sweep at 115km and getting just over 140 before I had to stand on my brakes.

I get paid on Friday and will be sending Mark some cash to hold my spot for the 14th.

i know a lot of people put tonnes of time and hard earned money into their cars so if they want to keep it clean, then there is no need to make fun of them. people have different taste/focus so whatever we do and they do shouldn’t matter to either one of us

saying that, i still think people who don’t track are gay

haha i’m just joking

Oh well, that just means that there are more spots for other people.

As promised earlier folks, here’s the photos that i was waiting to get back from Black’s… I couldn’t post them all, and some were better than others, so i put up the better ones out of the 2 films i did…

Enjoy!
-Matt

Thanks for those Matt. Gosh I forgot how great film can look on an old classic manual 35mm. The grain is great so much different than the jagged edges of digital were used to.

The tone seems flat but nothing ol photochop cant fix.

I have video…one day
