o hey HRK nice work opening up that flange man. friday is another work day for it, lets get the snail mounted up damnit
sorry bout the other day, wound up crashing out most of the day cause i couldnt sleep the night before
Friday until the lights/O2 are done. Hopefully.
mike has a shit house of them at his shop. i think he sold all his stock and bough all t-bolt clamps.
nick, what are we going to do about running out of argon? how long do you think what is left will last?
cut the lower mount on the radiator support to bring the radiator as far forward as possible:
Welding it in the new place:
turbomocked in, radiator set on the new spot:
pushed the top mounts further forward into the spot where the port used to come through for the old a/c condensor. other side we just drilled a hole, perfect hack mount:
fabbing the new adaptor:
clearance with the turbo mocked up hung in with the radiator moved forward now
finished BOV section:
section off the maf to connect to the above section:
the bay:
fabbing the wastgate tubing:
clearances:
support bracket for the turbo to the block:
i have to say im really impressed, hope it all works out for ya
thanks, im kinda impressed to lol. its coming along very nicely and im pleased with the results thusfar.
Looks good.
I would turn that battery around so you don’t end up touching the strut tower bar with a terminal or the ends of the battery. That could get ugly, I know a certain DSMer that did that and it destroyed half of the electrical stuff in his car.
wow, thanks for the tip
looks like you are making some good progress
keep it going bud
hopefully tonight i can post some pics of a downpipe/wastegate setup mocked up, maybe even done if im lucky and we work fast. who is down to come help?
nice work so far. i would love to see it once everything is together.
gooood stuff… i love turbo projects.
thanks guys, tonight we got a bunch more done. fuzzyfish finished his wiring geniousness, and we got the Wastegate set up where we want it as well as getting about half the downpipe made up in pie cuts. finished making the intercooler piping too. all thats left is to finish the downpipe, the wastegate dump, and the o2 sensors…o and gutting the cat. then we can put it back together and hit the dyno
the pie cuts:
fuzzy bein pimp with wiring:
The new adaptor:
vavle cover breather setup, put a PCV valve in line of it to prevent boost from going through it, as well as when we made the port for it into the IC piping right there, the port is cut at a 45* angle and pointed so that even under boost, it creates a draft of vaccum over it.:
intercooler mounted up:
the flange for the downpipe:
new adaptor with the wastegate tube added:
me tightening/mounting the wastegate, HRK threw that hat on my head that way so no im not a douchebag that wears my hats like that:
wastegate mounted:
wheres the piecuts picture with the stp filter in the background? lol
