well, heres some pictures of the progress on the re-build of my DIY turbo kit. its coming out MUCH better this time. i learned alot from the initial setup and am making alot of improvements with the help of a few board members.
here you go:
cut the stock exhaust manifold apart to use the flanges for a new adaptor(tried to make custom tubular manifold but there wasnt enough space to make one that would be efficient)
DSM 1g BOV flange ready to weld
New Tranny mount because i shredded the stock one into 3 peices
wierd flange on stco cat, would cost too much to have a match made, so two new universal ones were purchased, and this bitch got cut off:
custom battery tray to relocate it a little higher and further toward the rear of the bay
new mattery placement and clearance
new IC piping routing, with swap to blow-through maf
How off the flange i was using was from the actual inlet of the turbo, thats gotta kill some spool time(about an 1/8th inch all the way around)
new headlight hottness
The rest i will post up as we go along, last night i made the wastegate dump flange, dropped the oil pan cause the gasket was bad, and put a new one on.
you know it funny… i was running 16 psi and never blew off a pipe or sily-cone coupler with worm gear clamps, but a bunch of other guys running less boost with t-bolts used to blow pipes on the dyno all the time.
i dont know if i buy into this t-bolt being better stuff.
theres a ported had that eventualy will go on, but theres other things that are being contemplated, researched and planned before the engine gets built ( :snky: )
