for those who have family members with cancer....

Never give up hope. My aunt was diagnosed last year with stage 3 lymphoma. The same cancer that ended up taking my grandmothers life ( my aunts mother) when I was 4.

a few months ago, after several chemo treatments the doctor told her that she only had a year left max to live. She decided to keep up with her chemo treatments which came to a end a little over a month ago.

last week she notified the family that she is 100% cancer free. She beat lymphoma that was said to take her life less then a year ago.

never give up hope! even when people are telling you its too late, its not.

good to hear man

Good to hear! My grandma beat cancer as well, and now at over 80 y/o can probably beat up a good portion of the people on this forum, while feeding the rest chocolate chip oatmeal ruffage cookies. Wayne can vouch I’m sure.

That’s gotta be one of the greatest things to hear! And 100% agreed, fight it to the very end. Hard to say when you’re not the afflicted one, but it’s the only way you can look at it IMO and keep the mental state of mind you need to win the battle.

Every day for her now is going to be like a new lease on life, and damn well deserves every bit of it from here on out.

Glad to hear she made it man. That disease is a cock sucker.

I agree, fight until the end. Chemo/ radiation treatments aren’t easy and take everything out of you, but you really never know the outcome. I truly believe in early detection saves lives and the outcome really depends on the will/ attitude of the patient.

BUT at the same time you have to know when to stop the battle. I witnessed my dad go through stage 4 cancer and he fought every single day until the day he died. He went through treatments for 8 months and after many test & experimental treatments we all (mom/ dad/ I/ Wayne) had to analyze quality of life vs. add’l treaments.

Cancer is completely (for the most part) random, which sucks. It always seems like the best people get it. I am super glad to hear that your aunt is cancer free, great to hear.

congrats man , this fuckin disease has taken more of my family/friends than it should have , finally a survivor .

Really happy to hear man!

thanks guys. This christmas she came up to spend it with us from penn. and our whole family for a present gave her money so she could afford her medications and such. Her health care paid for chemo and appointments and what not, but not for the medication which cost thousands of dollars.

3 years ago I lost my grand father in the middle of the night, for no apparent reason. He was my best friend and would do anything for anyone. Greatest guy I have ever met.

strangly right after he randomly passed away, his closet brother (my uncle) who was his closest out of his family, all of a sudden got cancer in his whole body. He shortly passed a few weeks after my grand father.

its hard losing family, or even being in the position where they are helpless.

always happens to the best of them. look foward and grow stronger

Congrats!

Thats great to hear man. Glad to hear you are all on the up and up, family > *.

That’s awesome man, glad to hear!

very happy for you bud!

cancer is a very tough disease, very shocking to see the success and horror stoires that come along with it.

unfortunately for me, my family on my mother’s side is very succeptable (sp?) to cancer in various forms. My g-pah was the only one in the fam to beat cancer, but shortly after he died from pnuemonia because of his weakened immune system from the treatments.

My motto is enjoy what you have, never know what can happen.

wow man! great news!!!

but i dont think u can get cancer from an overly hot apartment so ur ok for now. hahahaha:hug

:rofl … his gf saw it right after you guys left.

asshole lol

I guess she was pissed about it haha. I was completely passed out and I dont remember half the night soooooo ya haha
