For you classic Mustang guys(beware 56k)

Here is a '69 Shelby that I just blasted for a local shop. This car ended up being pretty rough, lots of patching had already been done over the years. I figured I would share some pictures for those interested. I have lots more of other cars I’ve done too. Next car is another Corvette.

That looks sweet man good job.

Nice work.

What do you charge to blast an entire chassis? Feel free to PM me …

damn jess i miss seeing the cars fresh after a blast job, they always look so good…

nice work dude

Looks pretty solid, should be pretty awesome when its done. We do some blasting where I work too, usually small stuff though. What kind of media do you use?

More plz - details on the car?

That looks amazing. It is incredible what blasting can do for a vehicle. There is quite a bit of rust in the first picture, does the blasting stop the rust in it’s tracks? Is there any lasting damage on this particular car from the rust build up, like things that have to be patched?

Thanks guys, I love being apart of these resto’s. It’s pretty cool to see the difference between before and after so quickly. I have some more pictures of other cars here but should be adding more very soon. http://www.blastoffny.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=31 oh and there’s more here too’ Photo Storage

We use baking soda then go over it with a “sand-like” media to clean off any rust and get rid of any soda residue.

I have more pictures but not really anymore info. I was going to write down the VIN and decode it but forgot. The other pictures can be seen here.

It will stop it, sort of, but the thing is you have to completely clean the metal of any rust. The major thing then is the prep. Yes, this car has a lot of patching to be done. The entire floor pan is coming out as well as most of the front section ahead of the firewall.

Looks great. Nice job.

wow… great work man

Was the local shop KS Auto???

I always thought the '69-'70 Shelby cars were some of the sweetest looking ponycars ever, even if they were more Ford than CS.
