Anyone know if there are any “quirks” to changing pads and rotors on the front of a '01 Focus?
I know some calipers you have to twist and push to collapse and I want to make sure these aren’t that type.
I’m planning on doing them tomorrow…

Business as usual as far as I know. Closest brakes like that I’ve done are probably 97 a escort. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Just spread the calipers with the old pads and a screwdriver.
straightforward, fronts just push in. If there are rear discs they twist while pushing.
there are only a few things quirky. 7mm allen to remove the calipers. the only thing that pisses me off is the “flip clips” ill call them… they are on the outer pad, they hold them in place, theoretically that is. they always flip back and get ripped off by the rim.
Yea, I was wondering about the push while twisting. I’ll remember that for the rears, I’m only doing fronts as those are what is grinding/pulsating like a MOFO.
isnt there screws for the front rotors? i cant remember just have a impact screwdriver handy
yes, and impact screwdriver… I have one.
Basically it’s a block with a screwdriver head; when it’s compressed/struck with a hammer (3# sledge in my case) it rotates like a screwdriver while applying both the impact and rotation.
