Ford Warranty Help

My girlfriend has a 2007 Crown Vic. The front “Chrome” grill started to peal and the passenger side seat stitching came out and there is a gap in between the two fabrics.

She calls West Herr about a month ago and they say they have to wait until a Ford Rep is there. She says ok and waits as they say they will call her back. She never gets called back. Ok so she stops there today. They look the car over and tell her that her warranty is up. She has 36,900 miles on it. Remember its still only 1.5 years old if that. So they tell her to go back to the dealer where she got it. It is some dealer in Williamsville.

She drives out there (My gf lives in Eden) and talks to the manager. He says they could do it on a good will gesture. Cool right. He takes her name and says she isn’t in the computer. He then asks her if she gets her oil changed and she says yes every 3K miles. He goes oh do you get it done here, and she says no. She gets it at a Monroe by her house. He says and I quote "Well since you don’t support your dealer there isn’t any thing we can do for you. You will have to contact FoMoCo for any furture assistance.

I would have punched the fugger in the mouth or went out and told all the people in the show room not to buy cars because they don’t “support” the customers.

My question: Is there really anything I can do besides paint the grill myself and have someone fix the seat?

What would you do?

This is what I’d like to do: (Crazy Pissed Off Renzo Ideas)

  1. Fire Bomb
  2. Punch the guy in the fact with a stapler
  3. Drive the car through the wall and tell them I want to return it
  4. Test drive a new one and take whatever parts I want to
  5. Go GTA4 on the dealerships ass.

So go ahead and give some real as well as fictitious solutions to my problem.

Oh and buy a Honda is not a feasible solution.

Unfortunately, not much can be done. It is out of warranty as the bumper to bumper warranty is 36k or 3 years, whichever comes first.

Granted they should cut some slack as it’s just over, but they are not legally liable to do the repairs, and can opt not to.

my focus has a rip in the seat. well this is my second focus that has had a problem with the seat. There is a sharp metal bar right beneath the hole. I better not have any problems getting it covered or I will call ford in detroit myself.

The thing that kills me is when she called and first stopped it had less then 36,000 on it!!

she should have pushed the issue more when it was under 36k

Contact Basil Ford?

Don’t buy ford?

:word: fuck west herr. I’m sorry but I refuse to do business anywhere that lies to my face and then lies to me a second time to try and cover up the first one when I called them out on it.

That’s going to be a shitty battle. I’d get torqdss’s input and from there just start the nasty phone calls up the ladder.

why?

thats what im doing.

Well, if they aren’t liable for fixing it, then they aren’t liable for fixing it.

If it means that much to you, then buy a used trim piece from car-part.com and install it yourself.

I think its shitty that they asked if she had the vehicle serviced there. That shouldn’t matter.

Dude, honestly…

You should have been there, and not sent her to the dealership alone. Every dealership takes total advantage of women who go in there.

I would never let my girlfriend take a car to the dealer herself, or to any auto related place herself.

I even take my grandmothers car to the dealer for her, so that she doesn’t get scammed.

PM’d…
