Live and learn 17 hope is car + mods total.

Off the top of my head, the turbo kit was about $5k , the exhaust was $750, the gauges and pod were $1k, hood was $700 (even though he took it off the car), dyno time was probably around $2k, then all the other odds and ends. People dont realize how parts add up in cost on cars other than lsx equipped cars…shit aint cheap.

Shit isn’t cheap. That’s why start off with a better platform.

That was just a SS N/A :nuts: could of bought a true SS/SC for that crap invested.

Like the v6 guys in the mustang/fbody world. Getting mods done to be just as quick as a stock V8 car. Doesn’t make sense to spend Useless $$$$$ in the long run.

The car ran a 13.4 1/4 mile before I added an LSD and more boost so it was faster than a ss/sc or ss/tc. Was it worth it? No, but it was definately a fun car, I was just ready for a more mature ride.

problem with the dyno is that I had to have so many tuners look at this car since there were no specialists around that knew exactly what kind of tune this car needed, I think it went thru 4 different tuners and still needed someone that knew their way around hp tuners and a cobalt 2.4 turbo alike.

Don’t worry about Shaggy too much, IIRC he went through some p00p G-bodies and turd-gen F-bodies that couldn’t dream of 14.3s let alone 13.4s. Hell, did the old Fox ever go 13.4?

Am I saying buying an Auto NA Cobalt then turboing it is the way to go? No. But we all have to start somewhere, at and least you focused on legit performance upgrades not :rice: body kits and neons.

I agree it’d be a pretty good buy for somebody, but with as uncommon as your setup is, and as much trouble as you had finding a tuner imagine what some random kid who has no idea what he’s getting will run into!

I’m not a drag racer, don’t pretend to be. That was on 19" street tires with I think a 2.6 60’. Yee yee. When the new motor is done I might take it down the 1/4 on a real tire… but probably not.
