Just some advice for anyone looking to install one of these. the best thing to do is to always cut out the old rust before installing if you can and want to. the reason is as the old rail rusts apart inside the new frame rail it will leave behind all the old rust. once water sokes into this rust its harder to dry and can rust the new rails out faster. it will still take many years but for best results paint then under-cote the inside of the new rails cut the old rails out leaving enough to weld to and then enjoy that should last longer then the life of the car.
An other tip for just placing them over the old rails you can also use a jack to jack them into place to get an even tighter fit plus it stops it from moving around when welding.
C clamps work great for squishing the tops of the rails to the frame rail to get a nice tight fit.

What size gauge are the frame rail?
frame rails are all 16 gauge steel with a second 16 gauge reinforcement plate to lift the car with. It is the same thickness of steel that comes from the factory.

I have a new design of frame rails available now. The edges are tight and clean and the whole design is far more accurate. I also allowed for extra space between the reinforcement plate to allow of easier fitment over damaged rails. All rails will come oiled so they wont rust if left for a long period of time.
