FRANKENSTORM 2012

LOL this is all left over beer from my brothers wedding reception. Its mostly Bud light, but I do have corona, Bluberry Ale, One of every Sam adams basically, Bud light lime, blue light…

Hard liquor stores much better than beer.

I hate that they have our business on generators that kick in 10 seconds after powers been cut. Never a power issue for my work unfortunately. They didnt even apparently close during the October storm. Some people made it in, but majority came the next day.

I’m currently home. However, if shit goes down…I’m going to work. 41,000 square feet and a generator to run it on.

It’s getting a bit nutty out there.

personally, I’m a big fan of the horse head

I just have a crawlspace under my house, field stone and the water just pours in. I’ll be fucked w/o power because my sump pump is always going. I’ve never lost power for more than an hour. No generator but I can borrow one. I have lots of big trees around too. Oh well, whatever happens happens, if we lose power for a while I’m getting the hell out of here to find some people to drink with.

Don’t come home! Sit and take pictures of the storm then drive home through the destruction!

Just had a million dollar idea (if it doesnt already exist)

in light of this situation… would be sweet if there was a product that you could plug into an outlet at your home with a battery backup in it so that when your power goes out it sends a text message to your phone to let you know that power is out, and another when it comes back on.

Just to save you all a bunch of time and trouble…All tractor supply, lowes and home depot stores are all sold out/sent their generators down south. We have a few left, but we sold 16 today already.

Already available…In know UPS’s have email capability and such.

they make a little box that plugs in a household outlet similar in sie to a Co Detector that will send an email or text message when power fails?

Hmm I haven’t seen something like that…I’m sure it available somewhere…or you could rig it…problem is, how do you send an SMS?

actually, a better idea might be something that pairs with your router/modem for internet…so that when the power goes out, said device powers your WiFi so it can use the WiFi to send SMS or email to a programmed number or email…

OMG current status in NYC:

not the SABRETTS!!!

You could setup something like Tasker on Android that would send an SMS once the device leaves AC power, assuming you have it plugged in at the time.

Hahaha… oh man, people need to start tweeting random shots from The Day After Tomorrow and see if we can get CNN to air one.

where do you think I got that from

I’m already over this storm, we’re not gonna get anything.
