When did WNY become so afraid of snow? Listening to the people around my office and on the radio you’d think the world was going to end between 10pm tonight and 10pm tomorrow. It’s 8-14 inches of snow over 24 hours and some wind. If you’re listening to Tom Bauerle you’re probably reading this from your secure bunker right now.
Man up WNY. It snows here.
I’m hoping we get the max they’re predicting because so far this winter Williamsville has been missed by all the major storms.
This is retarded. My gf asked me to go to the grocery store for extra stuff. I said fine I will go get some 30 packs and ramen. If we are really stranded that is all I need.
I’m coming over. It is a big storm (meaning coverage wise). I agree though…it’s Buffalo, it sometimes snows a lot. If it was 8-14 feet then I’d start shitting bricks.
In Dallas for training, its 20 with a windchill of 4. Can’t escape the cold. We got a trace of ice, and some flurries, with wind. Shut down just about everything. Major highway outside the hotel is pretty much closed.
I hope the opposite, coming home from Italy on Thursday, last thing I want to do is sit around in Philly!
Edit: I agree though, this isn’t anything new for WNY. It ‘snowed’ (see: freezing rain) here for 30 minutes, followed by a 3 hour rainstorm. They shut down the city, enacted a new public transport system called “Operation Snow Storm” and fucked up the city for the rest of the night.
adjhasjkhdasjkhdajsd driving this morning with less than nothing on the roads was bad enough…the only thing I can take some hope in is if enough people call in to work tomorrow then the traffic won’t be quite as 'tarded.
Which reminds me. A coworker was telling me the sign on the 190 near the 290 that usually estimates 10 minutes or so to downtown said 43 minutes this morning. We got an inch of snow last night and traffic was fucked. I remember when 6" of snow meant you went 60 instead of 65 on the 33. When did we become such a bunch of sackless wonders?
People are only freaking out because of the national attention this storm is getting, which truly is a big deal. Most of the areas that are getting hit by this will be fucked, while I hope for another 40" snowstorm like in early December.
