fried clutch ?

hey guys today i fucked up doing a breakstand and then my clutch felt like there wsa nothiung but spring, so i bled it and it felt ok after, but i came to realize that it is a bit softer and it chatters a bit, i was cooking it for about 5 seconds at about 4000rpm, it doesnt slip and i can still chirp into 2nd, how badly do you guys think its damaged ?

its fine, you slip your clutch when you shift gears and start.

When you can’t move - then you know you’ve buggerd it up.

or when you floor it at 3000rpm in 3rd and it slips to redline

then you know its pretty much done

If a clutch begins to chatter it means that the metal on the bottom of the disk is sexually penetrating your flywheel…or the springs are messed up.
If you need a clutch flywheel, i have a few used ones in mint shape i can sell for cheap.
peace dude.

yeah, but when you bake it like that you can glaze it with little effort.

in your situation I would be more concerned with the damage done to the flywheel/pressure plate, you could have wrapped either, or both.

but as long as you can still shift without slipping, don’t worry about it, just enjoy the chatter and save up for a new clutch kit.
