I think right about the time they took the Chris Bangle look and rolled it in the M3. It’s going to take them another decade to undo the ugly he rolled into the brand.
This just re affirms my belief that all BMW owners are faggots. I don’t know what is true anymore or what is false, but, I read somewhere that he was being a cunt and not wanting the interiors swapped over for some reason into a “correct” colored car. Something too about this homo taking 3 fucking years to decide what color to go with? Does it have the V8 in it? Fuck if I care about the rest of it.
so much anger
In his defense, they were going to have a body shop do the swap of the interior, not the factory. The factory assembly is VERY specific. They have torque wrenches at every single station that are calibrated and monitored to be using the exact right torque on every nut and bolt. The assembly line workers know exactly how things should line up and in what order they should be installed.
I would not expect a body shop to assemble the car as well as a BMW assembly line worker.
What a horrible looking car, either way… Atlantic or Atlantis.
I find it funny that he’s worried about bodyshops and interior swaps, but he’s rocking a RS4 widebody conversion. Ha.

He should just get white/red off a dealer lot, have BMW reimburse him for thousands and chalk it up to a mistake…call it a day.

What a shock, Quattro coming to the defense of more shitty customer service.
Everyone has different experiences, I can only speak to my own experiences, but I’ve seen a body shop re-assemble an interior after doing major repairs, and it was terrible. Very loose seat, broken clips and loose panels everywhere. I would have been very upset if it was my car.
I am sure that some places do great work, though. For my $80k, I would want it done at the factory.
You have had a body shop in Germany that BMW would goto directly do bad work?
The sense I got was that it would be back stateside with a dealership body shop or something. Not knowing the details, I would simply be skeptical.
It’s hard to say what you would do in another person’s shoes, though. In the end, I would probably give the “OK” to have the interior swap done, but I would be worried about the quality of the work being done.
You can stop trolling me now, ya bastard.
Took you long enough
It does not matter if the guy is spoiled or not. He didn’t get what he paid for.
I don’t expect my customers to accept windows that are the wrong color, why should BMW expect a customer to accept an $80,000 car? I understand the offers of appeasement, but due to the extraordinary circumstances (Guy actually cares about the vin numbers matching the options, flying ALL the way to Germany…) the guy should just ask for a full refund if they can’t provide him a factory original car in the right color.
if you were a fat ginger, you would be the quintessential bully
Anyone who says this guy is in the wrong would be singing a different tune if was you. If you say you wouldn’t then you are either really dumb or full of shit.
Yeah, I’d be pissed I flew the fuck all the way to Germany to pick up my dream car and found out someone dropped the ball.
Whiney/rich or not.
Fuck.
That.
Shit.
Exactly. Dude is reasonable, has money and is an enthusiast at heart. His fleet of cars is nothing short of perfect, and he had this one built exactly as he wanted it. He rode down the escalator to the reveal area, the car was not right. He spent a shitload on the trip. He’s pissed, but still being reasonable about it.
They should just give him a M3-sized paper bag.
one time i had about 4000sqft of carpet installed in a property and when i arrived at the end of the day it was very obviously the wrong color…pulled out my order paperwork and showed the foreman who just about shit his pants as they were basically finished installing after about 10 hours. i feigned a bit of concern and disappointment and proceeded to call headquarters and get 30% taken off the cost if i allowed them to leave the wrong color in place. i had to change the paint color in a couple of rooms but it was well worth the deal.
sure this example only represents about 1/10th of the cost of this car. no one will ever wonder about the color of my carpet. it wasn’t what i wanted, but for the cost it makes sense. i assume just about everyone will wonder why the hell this guy chose the interior scheme he has…he might as well try to get it at a discount.
I bet his name is Stefan…
