In order to consider it an investment, you’d have to take the rate of inflation into account. Sure Jaguars were only $7000 back in the day, but people only made that in a year. Now jaguars are $80k. It’s all relative. Just because you bought a classic car and waited 50 years for it to be worth $70k, good for you. Take that $7000 you used and if you invested it 50 years ago, it’d be worth hundreds of thousands.

I loooove this haha. Guys talk about their friend’s 64 vette that’s worth $50k now. And he only paid $4k for it!!! Well, a new vette goes for $50k, so the car basically kept up with inflation. It sold for twice the cost of your average car 50 years ago and now it’s worth twice what your average car is worth. $4k then is $50k now, woohoo.

BMW offered a complete refund because they messed up. Does it suck that he didn’t get the car he wanted? Sure. THEY CAN NO LONGER BUILD WHAT HE WANTS. End of story. That’s it. Take it or leave it.

Are they tooling for the new body M3 or for a production run of a different product line? If they are tooling for the new M3 then he might be better off getting the new body instead of the final year old body.

I would not have taken delivery of a vehicle that was ordered and delivered in the wrong color. I have bought 2 vehicles (touareg and A8) that were not the color I wanted and it kills me every time I walk out to them.
