Front bumper rebar

do you guys remove the front bumper rebar to put the fmic in or do you guys get one custom fabbed. would you guys suggest removing it, i need to either remove it or get a new one custom fabbed to fit under my aftermarket bumper, either way if i have to remove it to put an fmic in then i’ll just sign a waver and get the shop guys to remove it. any thoughts on this.

I’d keep it in there if you can, it may need a little bit of trimming, but whatever you do don’t discard it. Safety is #1 :slight_smile: Take off the rebar, mount the IC, the try to put the re-bar back on…and trim if necessary to clear I/C. If the bumper doesn’t fit over top …well…you may be able to make some adjustments, but don’t go too crazy. If it really isn’t going to fit,I’d use another bumper.

The rebar is held on by 4 bolts, you could do it fairly easily with the bumper off. Hope that helps. I’ve never seen anyone custom make one.

Mine’s still in with some notches cut out of the back. Then we cut a hole in it for extra air. Hooray for welfare mods!

what about you aaron, what did you do with yours? it also looks like boost infested got rid of his, seriously how many of you don’t have it and how many do.

Ya, mine was cut out a couple years ago. I was having cooling issues cause of the restrictive front bumper/intercooler combo, it was much like DoubleDowns here.

Just whipped off the front bumper, then the rebar, die grinder to the rebar after measuring where I wanted to cut, did the same to the front bumper with a dremel after taping it and whola, done.

I HAVE FULL REBAR. It didn’t need to be shaved with my Trust Kit.
