My buddy has a 98 VR6 GTI and everytime he starts the car it sounds like a bad or worn out serp belt. But when he drives it even when its warmed up the sound is still there, its only when the car is moving and stops when he sits at a stop light. Any VW owners or people with experience with VW’s any help or advice is appreciated, im a Toyota Tech not a VW Tech lol.
had a similar squeak but mine is a mk4 vr6. pull the serpentine belt tensioner out. open it up and greased the bearings. fixed the problem.
