So while I make hard right turns nothing happens, but if i’m on an off/on ramp going fast and around it, my car and steering wheel will jerk suddenly, and then start to turn harder, and when i straighten out, my steering wheel jerks again and the car will drive normal again.
What would cause this to happen? I can try to provide a better description if needed
ball joints seizing?
steering gear fudged?
this happened to me once… in my case it was one of my front lower control arms… the bolt that holds the control arm to the sub frame had loosened off and worked its way almost all the way out. Now this is really unlikely unless, like me, you had an apprentice mechanic replacing a ball joint for you in the last couple days.
Whats more likely is a ball joint somewhere. Make sure whoever you get to replace your ball joint knows how to tighten stuff up again afterwards
It also could be a fucked wheel bearing, damaged strut, etc. etc.
If its severe, any tech will be able to diagnose it in 2 minutes flat on a lift… most shops won’t charge for this.
