Are you serious? It’s the safety of others that they are concerned about. Not to mention emissions.
LOL. Ugh, so true though
If you hit someone in a skyline or hit someone in a maxima I’m pretty sure the skyline won’t do more damage to someone else.
Unless you’re talking about another passenger in the skyline then I agree with what you’re saying and I go back to what I said about it’s your own damn risk to get in the car/drive the car.
Eh, look at the bright side. If you try to register this and they end up crushing it into a cube, you can register it as a Scion XB and it will be damn near a perfect match.
watch that vid i posted.
yeah you are right, I better check the safety ratings of all my friends/co-workers/etc…'s cars so that I will know who it is safe to ride with and who it is not. Oh wait, there is no government safety rating without these laws. With the regulations put on crash tests, I KNOW that every car I step into is at least safe enough to pass a government test. Not to mention, there is also records of the crash test ratings. Without the system, there is no reliable information regarding crash test safety.
The law is there to protect people from being sold junk cars. I can guarantee a lot of car companies would cut back on costs by building less safe cars and claiming they are “safe”.
If the law was not there, you would be hearing a lot more about deaths in car accidents. Car crash deaths are already high enough.
Word.
For further reference, see “Ford Pinto”.
/ford fiesta
wat
lol i was saying the ford fiesta is the same way. its will crumble under impact.
dont really have much to offer this thread but my father had the first smart car around because we have dual citiz.im almost positive you have to own land, and be a canadian tax payer to bring a vehicle over.we no longer have the smart car because it was retarded expensive to have it.
I was referring to the design flaw in the Ford Pinto that Ford new about before selling the cars. This defect caused many people to burn and often die when involved in rear end collisions because there were petruding bolts in the rear differential that could penetrate the gas tank and cause fires/explosions. Ford decided that the cost of reimbursment for the potential punitive damages would be less costly than actually fixing the problem.
kinda how their exploders had tires that like to give out under speed and kill people?
Well Ford didn’t make the tires, and I don’t think Firestone knew that it would happen either.
this is the most hijacked for sale thread ever lol…its all good guys hopefully someone will jump into this discussion and want the GTR
this is by far NOT the most hijacked FS thread ever to hit NYSpeed, apparently you haven’t been around much lol
I thought the smart cars were stupid cheap to buy? maybe I’m thinking of something else
insurance
really? I would of assumed it would be no different than a standard 4 cylinder compact car
Is it because they’re somewhat rare still? or because you can die in one easily?
Insurance rates in Canada are WAY higher than here. Until recently, people had to register and insure the car in Canada with Canadian plates in order to drive it.
