FS: 1998 KA24DE with 63k!

Hey guys,
I just purchased a s14 sr clip from marcus and I will shortly be selling my ka. First of all, my car is a 97 but the previous owner swapped in a 98 ka after the stock one went. He got it from a salvage yard and I have the carfax report to prove the miles on it at time of purchase. At the time the engine had just over 37,000 miles which is about 59,000 km. Since then between the previous owner and myself there is about 3500 km. So now the engine has roughly 63,000 km. It’s in awsome shape and I would ka-t it but it has auto tranny so i’ve opted to go with sr setup. This would be a perfect setup for anyone looking to go ka-t but want a low mile engine to build from.

It will probably be a couple weeks before the engine is ready for pick-up but I thought I would post now to give you guys the heads up.

As for price, I am still thinking about that but will be taking offers from now until it is ready for pick-up and it will go to the best offer. I am also including a spare red ka valve cover with the engine which I was going to put on.

I will try and get out tonight and snap some pics, if not then tomorrow morning.

Cheers,
Victor

Question: Are the motor mount brackets the same on the 240sx as the altima? I’m just wondering if i can drop this into my altima since I’m looking for a new engine. Now this is just the engine without the transmission correct. Rippers generally price Ka’s around 400 bucks.

63000 km? must run real good - my sister gave me her s13 (auto) and it has about 200 k - valves make alot of ticking and i was looking for a stock engine - how much is resonable?

Let me know…

Hey guys,
Well i’m not sure about the altima but it is the same engine. But i’m not going to say yes for sure. Maybe a fellow altima owner who knows could answer that for you. As for the engine it runs great, i’m sad to sell it because I really wanted to do a ka-t project but when i broke down the cost of doing a 5spd swap then a turbo setup, the sr option was a better choice for me.

I will go out in a bit to snap some pics of the engine bay.

Cheers.

The engines in the Altima’s are transversly mounted so I don’t think the altima tranny would hook up to this engine, I’m also quite sure that the engine mounts would be in different places.

yeah… thats what i was thinking… what a shame… i’m in a search for a long km ka

Yea I was doing some reading after and the block is slightly different and won’t work in the altima. I just took some pics outside…

Damn it’s sunny out, I thought it was supposed to rain heh.

im pretty interested but i own a 89 240sx and i dont if this can fit and mount up to my tranny does anyone know im going to research it now but im on dial up so i figured i would post this first

It should be identical, the only thing i think you would have to tackle is the wiring, but i’ve seen it done before in a 91 Hatch.

wiring, powersteering, rad, cluster and maf i believe. someone correct me if im wrong

95+ (except base) also use a built-in igntion coil (hence the missing 5th
wires from teh distributor).

You could use a distributor and coil from a 91-94 could you not?

yes i had a 97 in my s13

use s13 harness ecu mafs

convert to s13 dizzy

s13 p/s pump

easy stuff guys.

awaiting price

I’ve been offered $400 for the engine, ecu, harness, along with other misc parts which I will give when I do my swap. Not sure how serious buyer is but that is the price range I am looking for.

Engine has been sold guys. Buyer picking up sometime in the next few weeks. Thanks for all the inquiries.

Cheers,
Victor
