FS: 240sx - 1995 KA-T

*** Sorry guys – I’m gone again so can’t show & sell. I’ll be back to post this in Spring again. At least my wife will get to take it for a spin muahahahaha

Hia people,

*** 6 day quick sale (then I am gone again) ***

I’m selling my 240sx (KA-T). I am very often out of the country lately so I don’t have a need for the 240sx and I don’t like storing it and having it sit there. Looking to get family van instead once my wife gets here.

I will go over the features in this post and give full overview of things for the people that might be interested in buying my 240sx.

Let’s start with the bad just to get it out of the way - I like to mention everything upfront so no surprises:
-Windshield crack from a pebble from a truck on highway 87 few months ago.
-Dust rubber boot torn on passenger side steering arm (needs replacing - it’s not affecting the performance of the car but should be done).
(I bought BRAND NEW RUBBER BOOT but just no time to replace it as I went to asia for 2 months)

SCRATCHES & DINGS
-WHEEL WELLS & ROCKERS WILL NEED TO BE REDONE. There are other rust spots on the bottom of the car as well.
-Car was not involved in any accident.
-Please see pics.

TIRES
-Winter tires at the front on steelies and wonderful teardrops at the back. (passenger tire is leaking some air).
-TIRES are crap and have few flat spots as the car is not driven much throughout the winter or when I go overseas. Tires WILL NEED REPLACING.

The good & better:
-RELIABLE. Car starts up good, runs excellent in ANY weather. Vacuum at 21-22 hG at idle. No leaks.
-Replaced balljoints on the front - firm handling minus crappy tires.
-Frame is solid.
-Fuel mileage on the car is good as long as you stay off-boost (which can be done most of the time - even on a reasonable uphill with the KA24DE).

*** DETAILS ***

Suspension:
-Stock shocks with Eibach lowering springs.
-Rear sway bar from 240sx SE model (most base models lack this feature from what I understand).
-Front strut bar.
-Rear cusco strut bar.

Engine:
-Rebuilt KA24DE with over 27,000 km on it.
-ARP head studs / Felpro headgasket.
-Clevite bearings.
-Altima low comp pistons 9.2:1 (vs 240’s 9.5:1).
-Head rebuild (new seals).
-Routed blowby system / crankcase catch can.

Turbo
-T25 A/R .80 (SR20DET turbo)
-Restrictor on oil inlet, custom oil line
-FMIC: Lancer Evo II
-BOV: Turbonetics Raptor, recirculated
-T2 manifold is supported by a custom steel bracket to prevent potential manifold cracking and reduce vibrations from the hanging manifold (a typical issue on these types of manifolds). Bracket is easily removed.

Fuel management / delivery:
-N60 mafs
-Walbro fuel pump (255 lbs)
-370 cc SR20DET injectors

Transmission:
-Clutch: 350z f1 stage 3 (6 puck) / rb20det lightened flywheel. GRIPS VERY WELL but is also drivable.

Misc. under-the-hood:
-A/C removed.
-Dual altima electric fans.
-Nissan Quest 110 AMP alternator – 13.4-13.5 volts with all accessories on, 13.9-14.0 with minimal load. Good for electrical accessories - i.e. music boxes, etc.

Exhaust:
-Stainless steel all around.
-3 inch T25 elbow to 3 inch downpipe to 3 inch magnaflow catalytic converter to 3 inch circuit sports dual-tip exhaust (looks stock - 2 tips) [everything 3 inch].
-Never been pulled over by the police for exhaust yet so it appears it’s stock and not super loud - that’s why I chose it.

Brakes:
-Q45 brakes.
-Replaced MBC last year when I swapped out brakes.

Tuning & accessories:
-Safc-2.
-Innovate LC-1 wideband kit wired to afr gauge.
-Knocklite xs.
-Greddy turbo timer.

Gauges:
-Autometer boost / vacuum, oil pressure, wideband o2 (LC-1),
-Defi fuel pressure gauge.

Other:
-Tomei Personal steering wheel.
-Custom cruise control button setup (please see pics) - it works good.
-Megan racing short shifter (I think it’s the first version).

Willing to part out? :frowning: No way.

nice, so what its running for boost daily 8psi, has it been on the dyno? what is it making like 220-230 whp?

id take the shell if anyone wants the engine setup lol

Hi Braden

I’ve never gone to dyno with this rebuilt KA-T (KA-T3) engine yet. I wanted to ensure it runs good without issues before I put it through the paces. I’ve sold my gt42 to a member on this forum after seeing the amount of cash I’d have to put down that wormhole lol - and with that, I stopped focusing on power - it became my daily driver.

But one of the engines I run before on it (KA-T2) - made 274 whp / 245 tq. The graph does look shaky though - I made some poor choices back then and went for power run before tuning properly.

Here they are on the stands as I was putting in the rebuild with upgraded internals:

Right now it just runs stock wastegate psi - ~7 psi.

No splits guys lol… I had enough guilt after parting out my 2 corolla GT-s :frowning: Took videos of it going away on the tow truck. Sad moment. Not doing that again.

Love the work to just make this car run well. S1495 has given me some great ideas about how to build my s13 KAT great guy. GLWS.

Thanks Dude

.

*** BUMP *** I’ve decided to put the car up for sale before heavy snowfall… If interested, please pm.

Thanks guys!

nice sale thread bro. car looks pretty clean, and with a rebuilt ka-t thats a very reasonable price. GLWS

thought this car sold a few months ago? I’m the guy that ran into you at the gas station at King/Northfield in the fall

Hi KA24Power - long time no see.

The car was technically sold but clutch failed (call it karma as I had such huge regret over selling it at that time still) so I happily gave the buyer deposit back and decided to drive it for a bit longer and took the ad down. I then replaced it with a bit more meaty clutch that would hold decent torque (http://www.makemilk.com/pic_hosting/s1495/diy/white_bunny_hybrid/wh_bunny_hybrid_sm.jpg). Drove it for a while… It’s a fun car but impractical for what I need… now the “2 seater” is out of the picture - going to look for a van soon… and definitely winter driveable… so car’s back up for sale… it’s come a full circle… lol

I just drove this car on Wednesday night, and the new clutch is nice, short shifter is very smooth, and like Jack has said about the exhaust, it’s not to loud at all. It has very nice get up and go on 6-7 psi.

Thanks for coming down J and helping me out with the storage space

bump car price reduced before snow hits…

bump for a OG ka-ter … Jack def knows his stuff. Heres a chance for someone to get a Turbo s14 for the price of a stock one
