FS: 89 CRX turbo d series

im selling my turbo crx.

heres some stats:

engine:
1991 d16a6 non-vtec.
75.5mm weiscos (y8s) ~8.0:1 cr.
tuner toys rods.
oem main/rod bearings.
stock head rebuild.
arp head studs
oem oil pump.
autozone water pump.
ebay half core radiator.
dsm 450s.
190lph walboro pump.
poly mm insterts.
ebay catch can.

tranny:
obx lsd retq’d and shimmed.
autozone axles.
act xtr4 clutch and hd pp.
fidanza short shifter.

turbo stuff:
hf mani adpater plate.
evo3 big 16g turbo.
srt 4 front mount.
devils own w/i w/ 3gph jet and map switch (installed, not tuned/functioning).
ebay hks bov.
aem tru-boost controller.
2.5 bar motorla map sensor.
dyno tuned by me with turboedit.
stock cat back - 2.5" DP with exhaust cut out. see below.
2.5" cold side charge pipe, 1 7/8" custom j-pipe.

stuff included:
17" wheels shown in pics.
15" stock steelies.
16" rotas with hoosier drag radials.
z6 head/dizzy.
obx IM and turbo mani with dsm footprint.
lots of random other parts.
(i was working on collecting parts for a vtec swap)

chassis/interior
arp wheel studs
full poly bushing kit installed.
innovative front cross member with front engine mount and poly bushings in radius arms.
tokico hp shocks
skunk 2 lowering springs
new master cylinder.
new rotors and pads up front.
new ball joints, outter tie rods, front wheel bearings.
gutted interior.
full electric boost/oil/egt/gauges.
lc1 wideband hardwired in, but the o2 sensor took a poop.
bootleg racing seats (mint condition 91 Si seats included, can be made to fit)

weighs 2009lbs w/o driver. car made 265whp and 241ft-lbs on 19psi on pump gas with a BONE stock head/IM. have dyno sheets and tuning maps/electrical data, etc. car is easy low 12s with a good driver. fastest time so far is a 12.7@111 but i suck and missed 4th gear. highest trap is 114.

car made 125hp with the exhaust shut, and 265 with the exhaust open. bigtime sleeper other than the front mount. looks not so good but goes pretty freakin good.

lots of potential and no classic honda rot! chassis has ~120k miles on it ~1800 miles on the clutch, ~1k miles on the rebuild. mechanically the car is stout, just needs some work on the body. drivers side door needs help, door skins are discontinued :frowning: when i got the car it didnt have fenders head lights or tail lights, threw some ebay fenders on it and primered em, scrounged the rest of the stuff up. a lot of other stuff included not listed. car is a blast to drive, just looking for another project.

this car has alot of potential, id think there is another 100hp at least lurking around in that motor, that turbo is pretty much maxxed out. If you put a bigger turbo with a better turbo mani and intake manifold i wouldnt be surprised to make 350hp with the right tune

and the e cut is the best!

evo3 big 16g should be good for ~350. as i mentioned i was saving up for the z6 swap, the zex cam and some 550cc injectors - aiming for 330+ in the spring if it doesnt get sold.

the head, IM, and HF mani are holding this motor back more than the turbo in my opinion. its been tricky for me to get used to launching a fwd car, im certain someone with more experience could get some decent times outta this thing. the tune was pretty conservitive, i spent over a year street tuning the previous motor, d15b2 bottom end and A6 head, then when i got this block built i took it to the dyno to tried and do it the right way.

looks like a nice little project for someone to finish up :slight_smile:

nah i bought it from a friend of mine two years ago in pretty bad shape (if you can believe that). anyone that knows me can attest to how much effort ive put into it since then. the car is origionally from oklahoma.

so is the blue/chrome engine in it/come with it/have nothing to do with this deal?
