Current Stats:
4.0 V8
~130k Miles on Chassis, ~46k on the newer Motor Schrodiggity dropped in.
All Brakes just done a few weeks ago for $650… yeah, it sucked.
Water pump was leaking a bit from the seal, so I put in a new one while we were down there @ $500-ish.
New plugs, wires, misc. coolant hoses that were getting soft, and probably more stuff I’m forgetting.
It has it’s quirks for being an older vehicle, but nothing to stop it from being a tank in the winter and a comfortable daily driver.
It could use a muffler… the stock one fell off, so I rammed a fart can on it because I had one in my garage, lol. (Thanks, blk300tt)
Air Suspension still works great. The truck rides high; you can look down on people in F150’s, Explorers. Truck lowers down on the highway for better fuel economy and to confuse those next to you.
Other Stuff: Full time 4WD with High/Low/Accent/Decent/Etc. Tow Package. Tons of maint. records and receipts.
It’s still in great shape, inside and out, the same way I bought it from Dave. Small rust areas have formed, but they don’t stand out.
I don’t have many pics, but I can take more if anyone requests them. I think I have the ones Dave took last year too somewhere…
18mpg was the highest the truck’s computer read on the highway. My overall average right now says 16mpg. But with oil dropping to $60 a barrel, $2 per gallon gas is not far away. (link)
Unless he was wearing a headband and drinking starbucks while taking this picture. Then it’s totally art.
I like it. Photography is about giving someone a perspective that they don’t normally see. When you take a picture at eye level, and “normally” it becomes documentation, not photography. Write that down.
