I need this car gone quick. Yes, it has a lot of miles, but it still has a lot of life left in it. Has lifter noise, but I daily drove this car for 4 years and the noise never got worse and it doesn’t seem to affect it’s performance.
It is throwing a CEL for an idle control valve. The car starts up fine, but when it’s warmed up it will not hold an idle and dies out. When the engine is cold it’s fine. It didn’t do this when I stopped driving, but it is now, icv could possibly be cleaned to fix the problem, but I don’t know.
Now the bad. It needs a transmission. 1st, 3rd, 5th, and reverse all work, so it can be driven. 2nd works but you have to really force it into gear. It will go into 4th but grinds away. So, unless you only like odd numbered gears, it needs a new tranny.
There is some surface rust and two holes, rear driver’s fender and trunklid under the spoiler does not leak into the trunk itself.
I would have liked to fix this myself, but I have no time or ambition. This really is a great winter car, as the awd works great in the snow, but I need it gone fast. Would be a great car fixed or you could part it out and still come out way ahead for what I would let it go for (basically more than junkyard rate).
