I’m selling my 98 neon. Its a terrific little car that is moderately set up for the Street touring class for solo2. It was runner up in finger lakes for season points in 2006 and class champ for both wny, and flr in 2007. mods are as follows.
Mopar ECU
Pacesetter Headers

Koni yellow struts
H&R extreme rate race springs
Crash bolts
24mm rear sway
deymer racing endlinks
Booger Bushings
HPS brake pads
Brembro rotors
and some i can’t think of at the moment.
(The above parts have been put on over the past 1.5 years and have maybe 10k miles on them if that.)
The car is a 5spd SOHC with 134XXX miles on it mostly highway miles from my numerous trips back and forth from buffalo to syracuse. Still runs strong. Has new alternator, and alt&power steering belts, radiator (larger one from a auto w/ AC), has a ‘luck’ clutch that was inspected a year ago.
It currently has stock 14" steelies wrapped with new snow tires and new (cheap) allseasons. I also have rota slipstreams with RT-615s on them that would be extra and a set of silver wheels with used kumho ASXs.
The downs.
-It could use a newer battery or just a full charge for the one thats in it.
-the check engine light is on for a faulty O2 reading. you’d just need to replace the sensor on the cat. (id recommend getting a highflow cat and sensor to increase performance too.
-gas filler tube has a hole at the top. (nothing a little jbweld can’t fix)
yup! thats them. they are all gun metal with no machine lip. I got them a week before the pro in july and maybe used them for 6 events. pm me with an offer
yes they are for sale as well and have both 5x100 and 5x114 bolt patterns. they are a 15x7 wheel and are either a 35 or 38 offset i can’t remember. The wheels go on with a spline type lug i will keep them with the tires so people don’t have to worry about lugs not fitting
Is That a rot spot on the hood? Anyone looking to buy this car i have a set of 4:12 gears that will really wake this bitch up!!! $200 for the set with a brand new diff!!! Oh and bump for you, neons are so much fun and easy to work on!!!
Thanks for the bump and yeah its a small patch of cancer. there is a little on the driver door that was sanded and painted that can be seen a little in the 5sts photo. The right fender has a small dent. Aside from that paint and body are in great condition and the underside of the car is rust free.
i’m swapping the konis and header with stock parts. I’m dropping the price to 1200 obo. It’s great on gas so it would still make a good daily driver, autox or rallyx car.
