FS/Testing the water: Original Sil-Eighty from Japan, real deal with pics inside.

Roast close this forum down please too many junk mail with stupid questions.

this car is clean saw it in person in a parking lot, caught my eye immediately.

Please keep the chit-chat to a minimum. We get really excited about well built / well kept cars.

Second, change your text so your not yelling at everyone. We know your excited about the vehicle however you can’t post in all CAPS.

can you prove it’s a KidsHeart Sil80? IIRC they were made in 1998 with 180sx Type X’s (SR20’s). (shouldnt be importable/not CA18 )
also, if genuine Sil80s sold in Japan auctions for more than CLEAN GT-Rs, how come this one is price @ 15k?

^what he said.

“It is on record that 500 cars were made by this shop, and were only sold in 1998, possibly through Nissan dealerships.”

Why was this “real deal” sileighty manufactured in 1989 with a CA18DET, did marty mcfly drive it?

Cough cough, BS. its a conversion… don’t kid yourself.

I guess my 1/2 cut must have been a real deal sileighty, it had a silvia front, 2 windsheild washer pumps, a #62 ECU, and a blacktop SR. hugh, who would have figured 2 sileightys in southern ontario.

Roast, my comment is moreso directed at the misrepresentation of this vehicle as opposed to mindless jibba jabba

Also, thougnsta; what mods did you do since you’ve owned this car? and how long have you owned this car?
I ask because I remember seeing it on autotrader in the spring.

+1 to that. Not trying to knock the vehicle at all. Looks clean and in wicked shape. It may be a 180sx with a silvia front end, but these guys are right, its not a real Sil-Eighty. If were wrong maybe you could post up some more info on the car or anything to prove your point. Nice clean car, good luck with the offers man…

its a 180sx with a silvia front, hope you werent lied to when you bought it.

clean car tho, sorry for the chit chat rich, you wont hear from me again

History
The Sileighty (also written as Sil80) originated through early street racers in Japan who owned Nissan 180SXs with damaged front ends. Because the Silvia’s front panels and lights were lighter and cheaper than the 180SX replacement parts, many drifters used these parts instead. Unknown to the public until the release date, these end user modifications inspired a Japanese auto shop, Kids Heart to produce a small number of so called “official” or “real” Nissan Sileighties. It is on record that 500 cars were made by this shop, and were only sold in 1998, possibly through Nissan dealerships. .[1] Essentially the kouki (late model) 180SX Type-X tuned for drifting, the cars are distinguished from their home-built brethren by the distinctive “Sileighty” name on the rear dressplate and quarter windows. The Sileighty includes drift-oriented modifications such as a new ECU, a stiffer suspension system, an improved limited slip differential, and an increase in turbocharger boost from 7 psi to about 13 psi, resulting in approximately 230 horsepower, versus 205 from the standard 180SX’s SR20DET. The Sileighty is not recognized by any government as a Nissan manufactured model. Instead it is generally treated as the model of the original car before modification.
