FS:Type R GT30R turbo CRX

i was just gonna say that lol. Im sure nice hot pavement woulda made a difference.

i thought u had 235s or there or something?

noooo way, i already get a little bit of fender rub witht he 205’s, i would never be able to fit 235’s without rollin the shit out of the fenders.

lol thats what lee said, n im like no way. i had 245s on my fbod and those were past the fenders, no way would they fit on a crx lol

i wanna ride! :mamoru:

good power nice build! glws tbag

Innovative Tuning- building cars as promised. This car did exactly what it should have with absolutely no hiccups. Boost by gear and this car will be unstopable.

KEEP IT!

damn 439 is pretty impressive nick keep it like gary said!

Car performed flawlessly on the dyno…will definately make a fun ride for the buyer.

did u end up doing a race gas tune?

no its rdy for one though so whoever buys it can do one

That dyno sheet just added 2000 dollars to the car’s value.

whyd ya stop at 17psi?? could have easily gotten another 30-40whp safely

what engine management are you using?

using chrome, and idk mike tuned it and he knows alot more about it than i do. I am pretty sure though that i havent seen too many hondas go over 450whp using pump gas.

Good question. I actually could have made more power without running more boost just by running it leaner and adding more timing advance. Then I could have turned the boost up and made even more power. I’ll explain why I stopped here.

He was very smart about the build. He asked us to build a 400 whp street CRX with a proper engine/drivetrain and a good powerband, rather than the typical turbo Honda lag monster that’s pushed to/near the limit of the engine and everything else so it won’t last. We made an estimate, stuck to it, and over delivered. That makes me happy.

We built a solid package and went a little over 400 whp to check the tune in case the boost spikes a couple pounds, then called it a day. The AFR on the 17 psi pull was nice and safe so I left it. I don’t get my jollies or need to satisfy my ego by pushing a customer’s car harder than they want me to. People know we have no trouble making more a lot more power than this already, so we have nothing to prove either. I only did one pull over 15 psi.

It’s just a little GT30R turbo so it spools up very quickly and I didn’t have to get aggressive with fuel or timing to hit his power goal, even at low boost. It was over 400 whp at just 15 psi even though we only built his engine with 9:1 compression. When the complete package is planned and built well, the power comes easy. One of these days I’ll do a little writeup on this build.

Edit: Yes I used Crome Pro to tune this car. I tune the car using my tuning ECU, then burn a chip and put it in his modded stock ECU.

very nicely put!glws nick!

great build, good guy!

GL!

nice numbers and it seems you got his goal, i just know that setup is good for more, but as long as the customer is happy and the tune is safe its all good

does crome have the capability for pwm boost control? i havent messed around with it in awhile

What is pwm boost control? Pulse width modulation?

yes pulse width modulation with a mac valve or something similar, being able to tune the boost by rpm by gear helps with traction significantly in a fwd car

i think i remember someone somewhere telling me that yes you can tune boost by gear with chrome, or maybe they said u can only do it with hondata? i dont remember
