What’s the average on a fuel system install cost? The parts are around $700 for another denso and misc fittings, lines etc.
What would a fair labor figure be from a shop?
TIA.

It depends on the work to be done. I am not sure if anyone can give you an accurate number. I’d find out from your forum people how long it takes to do a similiar job and then ask the shop for an hour price. Since it’s custom, they might overbill you.
how much they trying to rape you for? -6 and -8 lines? filter. what denso pump are you using? i heard you only had 1 pump. which one?
-6 lines, have stock pump, ordered another denso. not to mention the relays
Suppose I should call around, how hard can installing another fuel pump/lines.filter/relay be…
Not to hard. I did two Walbro pumps in my car and all the lines on my own. Go to Shako off of rt9 for all your fittings and lines though.
wont be to bad, but you need a double hanger
Na, I modded the stocker… Worked out pretty good
he can make the stock work with dual pumps…i still have the stock hanger…but not for long ;D…
also if your car is at that shop…just have them do it…
$700 for just parts is reallllly excessive. I don’t know how much the pump is, but -6 lines and fittings are not worth anywhere close to that.
Stainless braided line isn’t cheap… Throw in a new pump, regulator, fittings, and relays. $700 isn’t a bad price. A return line kit for my car is ~$400 with -4 braided line and an Aeromotive FPR. Thats it.
Here’s a Aeromotive Fuel kit on summit:

i hate fuel upgrades, they definitely cost some dough, thats if you are doing it right ofcourse
its 500+ the new denso (280), everything oem wise was at cost. I’m getting a fair deal, basically I’m trying to work with him on it, he says its a lot of work and would normally charge $2000 to do a fuel system. He needs to weld and tap my fuel rail as well. This guy has built tons of Supras… I dont doubt his work, I just wish I knew how to do it myself.
may be cheaper to just buy the right rail…rather then drilling and welding
if you only had waited a little longer…you could bought all of my shit…
+1, this is the kit in my car.

They say, immitation is the greatest form of flattery, but in the case of the Magnum fuel system don’t accept imitations!! our kit is made with the best materials money can buy, competeing kits use inferior fittings and stock fuel rails, the Genuine GT PRO Magnum fuel system uses our state of the art modular fuel rails with the largest inner bore on the market, many try to immitate, but if you’re building a monster 3000GT, why settle for anything less?? The stock lines, and a single in tank upgraded pump simply are not enough, and your engine is not worth the risk!!! Our system is engineered to put out enough fuel for 1200HP!! This is the system used on DRAG-PRO., as well as GT PRO’s Big Single Turbo 3.5L 3000GT!! This kit includes: 2 GT PRO anodized high flow fuel rails twin fed, 2 high flow Walbro fuel pumps, -6 and -8 primary fuel lines, all necessary bulkheads with bulkhead adapter plates, all necessary fuel line fittings, high flow fuel filter, SX fuel pressure regulator, liquid filled fuel pressure gauge, -6 return line to the tank. Picture is for reference purposes only. Picture shows modified factory fuel sending unit which is not included with kit. The kit is designed to modify your existing fuel sending unit.
List Price: $ 1695.00 Sale Price: $ 1595.00
I figured it out, its about 150 cheaper doing it this way, and it will be done right before I leave.

MSRP $2,285.00
Your Price $2,195.00
I did all black anodize fittings and hardline adapters, earl’s lines, and an inline filter for ~$160. If the regulator, pump, and electronics are included in the $700 it’s not THAT bad.
cookie?
I’ll take two, low fat please.
