6.2-liter LS3 and a six-speed Tremec TR6060 manual transmission
0-to-60 mph performance of about 4.7 seconds, and a quarter-mile time of 13.0 seconds at 108 mph

Now thats more like it  Next question is pricing…?
Jeller
Huge  to GM on this one.
Looks good, any idea what the MPG numbers will be, I know the vette gets 30 or so on the hwy, hopefully this will be close
Nice nice
My GTO gets mid 20’s on the highway at 75-80. GTO has the same HP/TQ but a little less weight, so I would guess low to mid 20’s for the G8.
If you’re looking for gas mileage, buy a Prius or a TDI. This is a real performance sedan, something I thought America didn’t know how to make. (oh wait, they don’t know how to make it, so they stole it from Holden ;))
Can’t wait to see the pricing!
My V weighing in over 4,000 lbs with me in it, gets 26 or 27 MPG HWY going 80 MPHish back and forth to Buffalo. 6th gear killer
Granted around town is in the mid teens, but thats more or less driving style.
3.70’s with the m6!
god, I got 24.5 in my wrx driving around 80 mph.
I think it is 3.73’s, but close enough
I miss it right now thats all I know.
isn’t it still gonna be FWD? :gay2:
cool for what it is, but i bet they’re gonna charge way too much, and everybody that wants this will hopefully smarten up and go with the CTS-V instead…
WTF are you talking about? LS3, RWD, 6 speed. The car pictured is what’s coming. You can go out and buy a G8 GT today that’s RWD with a 361/385 HP/TQ. The GXP will be 402/402, same platform, but with a 6 speed manual. I’m guessing pricing around 35, maybe 37, which is 25 less than a CTS-V.
few things here. there was a question mark in my post, asking if it was going to be FWD. i’m not a grand prix buff, sorry, i don’t know these things offhand. secondly, i see nothing in the original post about price of this car, or whether it will be FWD or RWD, so i’m making assumptions/speculations based on past grand prix/bonneville like cars that pontiac has put out.
^ Ok, first thing, it’s not a grand prix. Start there, then do some reading on the G8 and get back to us.
I’ll even make it easy:

IMHO, this is a ground breaking vehicle for GM.
Word. This is a completely different platform. Grand Prix is dead… long live the G8
This is nothing like a GP :bloated:
"I don’t want to know about the new Mustang because it is just another Focus: :cjerk:
This car is gonna be sweet!
You know the 09 Camaro will have to be faster! :headbang:
I think I heard right under $28k for the base model…
