Just wondering Roland, how do you feel about a nationwide healthcare plan. Every US Citizen is covered.
Sounds too much like Socialism. The Govt. is already too big as it is. Plus, look at other countries that have govt health care (Canada for example). It takes forever to get an appointment due to the red tape and backlog there. Bad idea IMO.

I totally agree about the government being way too big. But that has NOTHING to do with every amrecian having healthcare.

I took my g/f to the ER this morning. She got a nasty stomach bug, then went into work when she really shoudnt have, and it got 10x worse. She wasnt able to hold down any food or liquids for 6 days. Even a sip of water would come back up in 10 min. Wanna know why she waited 6 days? Because when she turned 20 in september, she got the boot from her parents healthcare. The few hours we spent in the ER, in which all the did was run 2L of fluids into her through an IV, is most likely gonna cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $800. I had to watch her puke and cry for days because we had no healthcare, in hopes that she would get better and we would skirt what could be close to a $1000 bill. Not cool. Now, ill take you back a few years to when i broke my arms. that was 2 nights in the hospital, general anesthesia twice, one open reduction surgery on my right arm, and a few other little things. That racked up somewhere in the neighborhood of $38K. Do you realize how fucked i would have been if i wasnt under my rents insurance? I think its abysmal that there is no nationized healthcare.

Based on income, is she eliglble for benefits through the state? Also, there are plans available for purchase by the general public. I’m not sure how much the monthly payment is though.

I hate SUVs because:

  1. They are ALWAYS in my way. 2. 90% of the people who drive them drive them becasue they are “afraid” to drive anything else because they can’t drive worth a shit and think they are “safer.” 3. They kill and maim 1000s of people a year when driven by clueless morons. 4. Not that I’m a tree hugger but they burn through a hell of a lot of gas that I may need for my sports car when I am 90. 5. They are WORSE then most cars in the snow because they are too heavy to stop or turn quickly. 6. Once “everyone” drives them then what are you going to do to be “safe” again? Buy a friggen Abrahms tank? A big rig? A dump truck?

SUVs or pickups are perfectly acceptable IF:

  1. You take it 4 wheeling on a REGULAR basis. 2. You have a race car, or big ass boat, or camping trailer and need to tow 4000+ pounds. 3. You have more then 5 kids and want to occasionally do #1 or #2 so you can’t drive a minivan or Subaru.

i like suv’s i dont got a problem with them at all…everyone has there own right of what to drive, the person is gonna be driving the same with an suv or car, so who gives a shit…they have more room to haul stuff in and are more comfortable and useful than station wagons…

dunno about state benefits, for the most part i believe they are only offered to kids, unless you are on welfare or something…

And ive looked into plans, they are uber expensive for decent coverage, and you have to pay even more for dental, vision…

If I can sell her Monte Carlo outright, I may end up buying something off of you. (Trailblazer, Envoy, something like that). I have to find someone to buy her car.
