Gear discussion

I see you’re from knox. I work in knox. That’s my story. Welcome.

All new gear in one shot? nice. What happened to your old gear?

Gave my Cortech Latigo Leather jacket to my father. (After I bought the jacket, I lost a bit of weight so it became a size-too-big for me). My last helmet is a Scorpion EXO400 which will still be used when I ride to work or what not. (Not gonna bring the GP-Tech everywhere)

The pants and boots are the same. And the gloves … I was using AGV Sport Telluride Gloves but they are more for cold-weather or rain … so they are pretty thick - not for warmer weather. My warmer weather gloves were Icon TwentyNiners, which just don’t have enough protection for me anymore.

So, new helmet, jacket, and gloves for me. :tbu

I just picked up some twentyniners the other day

Thanks!

Sidi Votice all the way.

I need riding boots and need a few options what else do u guys recommend on the cheaper side I’ve worn down my timberline boots I use now

It depends on if you want something purely for riding or something that you also need to walk on.

FYI most race/track boots have precurves, they are design to be comfortable when in the riding position. Race/track boots will offer much better protection. You can get good boots for around $150, look for deals. I got my TCX race boots off season for under $100.

Love the Cortech boots. Are these boots like snowboarding boots where they are angled?

Most what the manufacturer labeled as “race” or “track” boots will have a precurve on them, but the precurve varies from brand/model.

I’ve had the Cortech Latigo RR boots for about a year now since they came out, and I love them. Yes they are slightly curved, but they aren’t too bad to walk around in. I’ve actually walked a mall in them before. Very comfortable boot, lots of protection. Easy side zipper with a velcro pull over.

I’ll have to look at vlads sidi to see how much curve they have and compare I really want to go to the track this year and boots would be awesome along with a suit

any opinions on alpinestars Tech2 boots? looking for something thats leaning more towards being comfortable walking but still gives real protection

Go full boot man, never ankle boot! You want max protection, also full boots aren’t that bad I can walk in my Sidi’s all day.

Look for something that is being labeled as “touring” they are designed to be used in a more up right riding position and better for walking.

I agree 100% Walk away from those " shoes".

My boots are great for touring and walking around. They may seem expensive but when you figure I have had them for 8 years It works out to be cheap protection.
and the bonus is they are still waterproof.

Sidis are insanely expensive. Damn. lol

Dude they are worth it man, I knew a guy selling the same set I had for 300. If I see another cheap set I’ll let you know. They are worth the money I shit you not! they saved my feet in a low side & you can barely tell I slid across the ground into a gravel pit at around 60 mph. :excited

Also all the parts are replaceable even the soles! That is huge right there! No buying boots getting aggressive rear sets & having to ditch a perfectly good boot due to worn in soles.
