Gears of war / Two xbox360 live problems

So i have a descent cable modem connection and a router to hook my 360 and my computer to the net. everything works great. when my buddy comes over with his xbox he also hooks into my router. we play gears of war. we cannot join the same game together. to play a game together one of us must host the game. durring a game hosted by either one of us the other xbox gets disconnected from xbox live about every 3-5 minutes of play.

it may be gears of war related, or not, but thats the only game we both have cds for

anybody have any thoughts?

what type of router are you using? does gow go online when you play or just use traffic between both xbox’s

Chances are because you are using the same public ip, I don’t believe live allows more than one xbox 360 to be connected via the same public ip addy but I’m not 100% sure on that… but probably more than likely what it is.

Unless they’ve changed it, you can have upwards of 3+ Xbox’s connected through one public IP address.

Try updating your router’s firmware. I remember there was a rash of this awhile ago during the days of Halo2 and R6: Black Arrow and I believe this was the fix.

its a BLEKIN wireless G (im not using the wireless) its new about 2 months ago when i got the xbox.

we play online, with two xbox live accounts so we dont have to split screen on one screen.

and how would i go about updating firmware? lol

Not sure with the Belkin. Some routers have the utility in the configuration options. Check on Belkin’s webpage.

hey thanks guys, updated the firmare, no problems now
