Get used to high gas prices.

Nick, you’re better off buying a cheap (MKIV) TDI to save money on gas. Especially if you’re getting reimbursed from work. 50mpg for 12 months of the year is nice.

First $67 for a tire, now $35 for a chain? YIKES! Remind me not to ride anywhere near you if you are going to cheap out on bike parts! LOL

^this

ever see what can happen if the chain breaks and the guard doesn’t fully protect you?

Anyway sounds like Nick will make out since his employer re-embursement will cover the expenses so the bike and he still has it for a 2nd toy. Enjoy and ride safe.

The prices at Mobile near Saint Rose just went up again today as I drove in to work. Now $4.05.

my bad, $44 for a new chain

it was 3.99 yesterday. bullshit man. The one on Central ave above Hannaford has been 4.09 for 2wks idk why people buy from that guy, Hess is 30sec away and 3.91…

I love high gas prices!! 93 octane at 11mpg is awesome!!

No thanks.

I guess this means I have to spend a million dollars at Price Chopper to get 0.03 cents off a gallon.

Your logic is way off!

It’s $50 for 10 cents off a gallon!

/sarcasm but serious sarcasm

Seriously though, I usually buy all of my groceries at PC. Around x-mas time I bought all the gift cards I could for people there when they had double points on gift cards. Spent $250 on gift cards, so it’s like I spent $500 when it came to gas savings. Plus $100 on food. That trip alone saved me $1.20 a gallon. It was nice paying $68 or something like that to fill my diesel tank.

Side note: It’s gas prices, which constantly fluctuate. Let me go find one of the 15 old threads where people are predicting future gas prices. Also, it’s an election year. Gas prices are a huge debate issue (when it shouldn’t be, just like gun control, abortion, etc…) because the consumer sees the costs every day. Taxes, people although see every day (sales tax at least), they kinda just write it off because they’re used to it so much and they relatively stay the same for a while. Gas prices are constantly fluctuating and usually in the direction we don’t want it to. If someone thinks that a new president will stop the fluctuation and have it back to $2.50 a gallon, then they’ll put their vote to whoever saves them the most money. While not 100% logical, I can see their view on this.

the worst part about this whole thing is that there is nothing that anyone of us can do to lower gas prices. There are so many people that could actually do something about it, but they wont because they make enough money so it doesn’t affect them or we are the ones paying for their gas in there state and government owned cars.

I hate the bickering of gas prices. If it was $10 a gallon, myself and everyone else would still pay it. Idk about everyone else, but i have to get to work everyday therefore ill pay whatever it says at the pump. yes it sucks, and i remember paying 1.02 for gas 10yrs ago, those days are long gone. So if it gained 4.00 more in 10yrs, in another 10yrs we will be at almost 10 dollars a gallon and then will be bitching about “remember when it was 5.00 a gallon”.

As for a bike saving money, not in my case it doesnt. Having a bike is nice to ride to work somedays, however you will never ride everyday due to this awesome NY weather. I pay around 2500 a year for insurance, plus i can go through a tank of gas on a saturday no problem @20-25$. So just think about the bike thing, or buy a moped.

Wal-Mart is cheaper by quite a bit and the PC in Mechanicville blows goats but otherwise your logic is sound.

I know Wal-Mart is cheaper, but it’s more out of the way for me (Guilderland -> Glenville) and I’d rather support a corporation whose headquarters are in the city I grew up and is in the area than Wal-Mart.

hope gas goes to $20 a gallon… more people will pawn there shiiitttttt

WWIIIIINNNNNNNNNNN lol

How they wont have enough gas to make it too your store lol

Wear their gold chains while riding their bicycles like they do in Amsterdam.

yeah, i think this is a better choice

other one would work just fine im sure.

Do you buy a real turbo for your DSM or an ebay $1000 shipped kit?

Same difference.

Except the chain can make the difference between your having a good riding day or a day in the hospital when it snaps mid turn.
